in these days of the great cowboys preparing for the man-hunt, here are some lines telling what the mediterranean/european sentiments are, as published by a political commentator.

The war we fight is not like the one England has had to fight with the Irish. I'm sorry the British approach with the IRA and the Unionists has failed so horribly, hopefully the new approach will work better. The IRA and the unionists are tough foes, then again neither of those groups are much on suicide bombings, etc. What we face with OBL and this group of terrorists are folks who if they can get their hands on a nuke, would not hesitate to use it.

Will there be bomb strikes and TV coverage, yes. Will there be civilian casualties, yes. However, the majority of this war will be intelligence gathering and Special Ops. I don't foresee indiscriminate bombing, which would only hurt our cause.

What will suceed is trying to improve the lot of the people from which these terrorists are recruited, and neutralizing or eliminating the likes of OBL.

Just my humble opinion.

I've had the distinct privelege of working with the warriors who will do these missions. They are true mench REAL MEN. Men with honor and courage and a sense of loyalty and duty that is unmatched in the world.

What should we do, so many have asked. We do what is necessary to eliminate terrorism. If we don't answer these people with the only language they understand, the next time it will be a nuclear bomb going off in NYC.

Star Trek: Enterprise: What did you think?

ok, i know that i'm not the only star trek geek out there.

i know tons of dubs (ex dubs) that love star trek because it's one of the only interesting shows that they are allowed to watch.. anyway, did you watch the first episode tonight?

i'm pretty sure with the one scene, that the dubs will be reproving some for masterbation tomorrow night.. oh and what's your favorite kingdumb song?

I liked that scene too, so did my wife come to think of it. One glaring inconsistency with the conventional history given in other shows. According to NEXT GENERATION, first contact with the Klingons was handled so poorly that it lead to a war. CAPT Archer seemed to have handled it pretty good though.
Good show, I look forward to seeing more. Sooo, who was the guy giving instructions in the Temporal stream was he a Vulcan or a Romulan (I vote ROMULAN).

Another loss...we love you Mulan

my mom's cousin sharon passed away at 1:30pm thursday september 6, 2001. she was a lovely person and was always more like a sister than a cousin.

mulan held her hand every step of the way through a battle with breast cancer and she was with her when she died.. mom's birthday is tomorrow.

now she will celebrate sharon's life along with her own every year at this time.. i wish there was some way to ease your pain mom.

Suicide: Bearing the Burden - Maximus to Jayhawk

while all suicides are devastating tragedies, jw suicides are especially hard to bear, depending on the viewpoint of the survivor.

one person may be shattered, while another merely accepts the possibility of a resurrection of a loved one.

Plain and simple, suicide sucks for the survivor, it's a permanant solution to a temporary problem solving deficit. I work in the arena of suicide prevention. There are no easy answers.

About South Carolina and Me

ok, so who all is in south carolina, several people i assume from the answers to my last posting.

to all who asked about my wife, she's doing great, she's recovering ahead of schedule, is already back to work, and i'm no longer cut off (thank goodness, a 5 1/2 week dry spell).

for all interested, i'm in columbia, sc anyone want to meet for coffee?
