  EASTER QUIZ: Where is the missing prophecy Jesus fulfilled?

  since today is celebrated by christians all over the world as easter sunday.... here is sort of a puzzle to solve--if you are interested in things such as this.. .

  we begin with luke 24:46. we have a claim being made about a prophecy.. speaking to his disciples on the night of his alleged resurrection, he said, "thus it is written and thus it was necessary for the christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day.

  " that the resurrection of christ on the third day was prophesied in the scriptures was claimed also by the apostle paul in 1 corinthians 15:3-4: "for i delivered to you first of all that which i also received: that christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

  A long time ago in a discussion about the Bible, someone posed the question 'what was the big deal about Jesus' so called sacrifice?'. I replied oh the greatest sacrifice that any one could give was their life and Jesus' life was perfect so no greater sacrifice could be given. 'But wasn't Jesus sitting at God's right hand in perfection before he came to earth?, and isn't 31 years or whatever it was supposed to be just a blink in infinity?, so if he knew he only had to endure suffering for a blink and then he's get back to perfection, what was the greatest sacrifice he gave? It really is no big deal anyway surely?'

  I am so grateful for this logical grounded open minded person who was brought up as a JW but who used her intellectual reasoning to set herself free.

  How exactly did Jesus fulfill the law NOT the prophecies.

  theres a clear difference between prophecies (predictions of future events) and laws(stuff you should and shouldnt do).. now since xians always says jesus fullfilled the law, how does one fullfill a bunch of requirements like dont murder, dont worship idols, shave your beard like this etc.. there are 613 laws in the torah, jewish rabbis have done all the hard work and we have a nice list on wiki.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/613_mitzvot.

  im confused which of those some how select a unique individual to be the unique messiah ?

  then again there were many messiahs, every king and priest of israel and judea was a messiah.

  When I read your verbose post it sounds quite arrogant and confused. You say that if you are of the elect, you are chosen, I presume by God. So a loving God choses who he wants to be in the elite..oops elect, gives them understanding and then gives them more but the others just won't understand because God hasn't allowed them to be. What loving parent would give more to one child and then condemn the other for not having what they gave to the other. It doesn't make sense to me!

  my friend was a jw and gave signatuory rights to her business accounts to her good friend, sue, a regular pioneer.

  sue is married to a much older man, john and they have two boys.

  my friend was welcomed into their home and lived with them for 4 years.

  It just seems unbelievable that no one will defend my friend. She came from a disadvantaged background and that regular pioneer is a known nutter but she gets protection being a hypocrite attending meetings yet my friend has no one. I just wish I could do something for her.

  My friend was a JW and gave signatuory rights to her business accounts to her good friend, Sue, a regular pioneer. Sue is married to a much older man, John and they have two boys. My friend was welcomed into their home and lived with them for 4 years. During this time an elder, Michael discussed the couple's marriage difficulties. Michael admitted to my friend that John had told him the only thing keeping Sue in the house was my friend living there.

  My friend drifted away from JWs and the meetings and eventually moved out. Sue began stalking my friend, driving past her house at midnight, convincing JWs in the area to shun my friend to the point that people would cross the road if she was walking towards them, getting regular pioneers to come into her shop and talk photos of her and other forms of harassment.

  Then my friend discovered anomolies in her accounts and in short, the fraud squad began to investigate more than $120 000 of missing funds. Because my friend gave Sue signatory rights a long time ago, she now can only fight it in court. They keep postponing and increasing legal costs to the point that my friend has now declared bankruptcy as she has no money left. They managed to put a caveat on her apartment so the bank is selling it. John has told the elder Michael that he is willing to repay the money as they are very wealthy. But now the elders do not want to get invovled because my friend is not going to meetings!!!

  I cannot believe that this elder knows of the wrongdoings and has admitted this couple are a law unto their own and he will do nothing to stop this.
