i am looking for anyone who was in nashua nh area cong's from 1970's to 1990 or so.. i was freed in 1987 after many years pioneering, etc.
i have nver regretted my decision despite complete cutting-off from friends and family.
but surely by now there are others i knew who have also escaped?

i think i remember visiting friends in your area back in the 80's before i got married. a sister i used to hang with was laura larkin, originally from gloucester, ma. i think we even went to the kingdom hall there too. i know some jw's from manchester, nh. do you know the gjika family? i knew some of them when they were in the revere, ma congregation.

they were the good old days, in the uk about 10 years ago were able to purchase food tokens to get our lovely hot food supplied at conventions i used to really look forward conventions then,then all of a sudden voila no hot food supplied at assemblys no more i was "gutted" i really missed the currys and sunday veg mmmmmmmmm.
but why did they stop doing it, i think this really upset most having to bring your own grub.they do give free water at them now though
oh ya
i remember all that great FOOD at the assemblies and conventions!!!! after they got rid of the hot food and the icecream machines, it was all down hill from there!!! hey, remember the hoagies and the "bag-o-fruit" and the borrittos?!!! it insured all to have really bad GAS by the afternoon when you were dying listening to that great 3 part symposium on the book of EZEKIAL!!!!!!!!!!

i was a pioneer and married to a pioneer elder. IT WAS SO MUCH PRESSURE!!!!!!!
i finally had a nervous breakdown and landed myself in psych. ward. i can still remember my husband coming to visit me bringing me literature to place with all the "depressed souls" with me on the ward!!!!! ABSOLUTELT CRAZY
i felt the biggest sigh of relief when i said i'm stepping down from pioneering after i was discharged from the hopital. oh the elders were so "encouraging" saying it would be ok if i didn't make my 1000 hours for that pioneer year. NO THANKS

i was pretty close to a sister names penelope mass and her mother sister mass. they moved to marthas' vineyard back in the 80's. sister mass died in 1985, but penelope (name changed to kelly) i heard moved back west with her husband a few years ago. i often think of her and wonder if she's still in. i believe she grew up in the truth in the LA area. do you know her?

i am 27 years old and have been married since i was 18 (since there isn't anything else for a good sister to do besides get married or pioneer and i wasn't about to pioneer.

welcome---i'm pretty new myself. it was a struggle to say the least for me to leave the jw's, and i had no children. at the height of my"spiritual actions" i pioneered with my elder husband. when i started having serious doubts it definitely caused a struggle. i didn't go on line but i had some "apostate" literature i used to hide and secretly read when he was not home. our marriage had some real problems--expecially lack of communication--and finally dissolved. you never know what will happen. hopefully he'll see the "light" and the inconsistencies and hypocrisies in the organization. did your father and mother live on marthas' vineyard before she died?your story sounds very familiar about a family once from the island whose mother died in childbirth and the father met someone soon afterward and moved off island. it was not long after this that i moved to the island and a pioneer sister started a bible study with me. i believe you'll get some really good support here, and you're not alone in your quest for real "TRUTH".
