point 1: i just attended a seminar by michael josephson, who runs the josephson institute of ethics.

you might know of him from his "character counts" spots on the radio.. anyway, one phrase he repeated was "if you allow it, you encourage it.

" i immediately thought of the jw policy of "2 witnesses" before something is a crime and how that doesn't apply usually in child abuse cases.

however, the fact that, as i pointed out, paul appealed to ceasar, proves that christians are entitled to get a fair hearing according to the laws of the state system they are living under.

as a matter of fact, when paul wrote to the phillipians he was under arrest in rome.

some of you asked why in the world we go to the kingdom hall to partake of the emblems at memorial when we don't believe in them anymore?

was it just to cause an irritation?

ironically, we were discussing the watchman who stays awake night and day.. anyway, something was said that made me awaken and pay careful attention.

please, if anyone else who got this same information at their book study, please share it.. here goes:.

there was a picture of a man standing on the watchtower keeping on the look out.

That's the point, you want to have the right to choose. But in this case Jehovah chooses, not humans. He uses who HE wants.

the watchtower has pronounced the un as being the disgusting thing because it is trying to bring about world peace instead of putting its faith in jehovah to do that.. the watchtower claims to be jehovah's tool and itself attempts to unite the peoples of the world into a united organization going so far as to monitor and punish the behavior of individuals around the world.. how are the watchtower's actions different from the united nations actions?.

hello to everyone this memorial season...... yes another memorial season is upon us and a lot of talk and questions as to: how many will eat and drink?

what will be the number?

or is it finally going down?.

This story does sound odd. I have never heard anyone turned away.

But I was wondering why would you want to go the memorial in the first place if you don't believe in the JWs anymore. Are you trying to prove a point? Or do you get off ridiculing something that the JWs take seriously?
