I agree that there is also a threat. The congregation I attend is holding a circuit assembly soon and one of the elders spoke to the congregation about this. He mentioned that the attendants would also be looking for suspicious activities. There is always a danger when a big group gets together, whether it be Witnesses or any other group. Thanks for the warning. We have to be very realistic in these dangerous times.

Why won't my friends help me?
by sleepy inwhy won't my friends help me?.
i had one letter about 9 months ago while i was still going to the meetings warning me about apostate tendancies.. then a phone call from another friend just after christmas telling me he couldn't see be any more.. this has been the extent of my former friends encouragement to get me to see the errror of my ways and come back to the fold.. none of these people see me any more.. none of these people have made any effort what so ever to get me back!.
i'm thinking of phoning some up and asking them "why?".

Searching for a Child Abuser

i knew him but i don't remember his first name.
we were in the same congregation together for a few weeks.

I can understand your disbelief as this forum is just full of examples were elders screwed up with the handling of child molesters. I wanted to give a good example.
After the confession, the elders contacted the Watchtower Legal Dept. and they were told that in Texas it is law that child molesters must be reported. The elders followed this instructions and the rest is history.
This is just one small example that the system that the Witnesses have does work if the elders follow instructions and not take it on themselves to do justice.
