Isn't faith, by definition, believing in something that one has not seen? If so, then I will happily have blind faith.

Trinitarians! Who is Jesus Christ's father the Holy Spirit or the Father?
by booker-t inthis is one question that trinitarians try to avoid because they have created a very embarrassing problem.
the bible is very clear when the angel tells mary that holy spirit will overshadow her and she will become pregnant.
the angel does not say the father will overshadow her but the holy spirit will and if the holy spirit is a person that would make him the father of jesus.

Well, we are called to be peacemakers, and who knows, maybe you will argue against anything I say. I said what was most important. I do like to debate, but I'm probably not smart enough. I don't know everything. I never will. So I concede that I don't know. But I love God, and I believe Jesus died so that we can have eternal life. I believe in the holy spirit and that he lives inside of us. That's enough for me.

So, I may have unknowingly become a heretic. But, I have lied, so I am a lier, I have lusted, therefore I have committed adultery. I am so glad that Jesus came and lived a perfect life so that I don't have to, because it would be impossible. I am so glad that I am 100% forgiven! Praise God!!

Also, there's this that makes sense about it:
“We don't use the words begetting or begotten much in modern English, but everyone still knows what they mean. To beget is to become the father of: to create is to make. And the difference is this. When you beget, you beget something o the same kind as yourself. A man begets human babies, a beaver begets little beavers and a bird begets eggs which turn into little birds. But when you make, you make something of a different kind from yourself. A bird makes a nest, a beaver builds a dam, a man makes a wireless set – or he may make something more like himself than a wireless set: say, a statue. If he is clever enough carver he may make a statue which is very like man indeed. But, of course, it is not a ream man; it only looks like one. It cannot breathe or think. It is not alive.
Now that is the first thing to get clear. What God begets is God; just as what man begets is man. What God creates is not God; just as what man makes is not man. That is why men are not Son's of God in the sense that Christ is. They may be like God in certain ways, but they are not things of the same kind. They are more like statues or pictures of God.” -

We are created in God's image. In Genesis, God says "let US create man in OUR image." This says a lot to me since we are created in God's image and he is saying "us" and "our"
This is only one example where God is shown to be plural, but one.
Also, in Genesis, it say "God created the heavens and earth" but in Colossians, it mentioned that all things (not all other things, mind you) were created through Jesus. So if Jesus created the heavens and earth, then he must also be God.
Those 2 things were proof enough for me.
Of course, in nature, an egg proved it to me also. There is a shell, a yolk and the white. All one egg.

New light?
by Ignoranceisbliss inmy father who is an elder with decent organizational connections mentioned that very soon there would be "new light" regarding the resurrected being able to be married.
this would make sense because our current understanding has never made any sense to me.
has any one else heard anything about that?.

What is the current understanding? It's that we won't be able to be married, right? I knew a lady in our hall who believed she would be married to her 2nd dead husband, even though the bible said otherwise. What would the "new light" on the subject be?

Oh, great! Here we go.
by stillin inour son finally has relented and allowed his young daughter to spend a day now and then with my wife.
he has confided in me about it being "bad association" for his daughter because of the witnessing he knows my wife will do.
sure enough, out come the caleb and sophia videos and the poor grandchild saying to her grandmother, "i want to make jehovah happy, too.".

My mom tries to witness to my son whenever he goes over there and he has learned to just ignore it. He's 10. He has formed his own opionions about their beliefs, so I feel good about that that he won't fall prey when he's older!

I was scared of demons also. I am 34 years old and just a few years ago, I was able to accept that there were no demons going to come out of the closet and I can look at the mirror in the middle of the night when I go to the bathroom. I heard stories of friends whose house had demons, I read one of the brochures on demons....always demons!!

I am still scared of losing what little contact I have with my mom and sister. It would break my mom's heart. I know Jesus says to choose him over family. I guess if it comes down to that...then I would have to, but there's no pressing need to do it. I have considered it, though, because I am not a part of them anymore.

You're making progress, but she can go back anytime...the mind control is strong, especially in a born-in. I still have issues and I've been out 15 years and have been "saved" for 5! That's why we are all on here...it's hard to let go completely...we have to keep seeing the falseness of it all. It's a weird thing to be in that religion...no one completely understands unless you've been there! They make you feel like they are on the ark and you're going to get the door closed on you if you leave! That's why she wants to get reinstated, then fade. To be disfellowshipped - that's like a death sentence to them! Try to get her to just be DF'd and stay that way...because what she's trying to do is leave the door open to go back!
