Need help on Resurrection
by Bella15 ini hope all is well.
recently my uncle ( my mom's brother ) passed away, he was never a jw but evangelical christian all of his life, never accepting my moms teaching.
so my mom in facebook keeps on making references to other family members when her brother comes back in the resurrection and live in the paradise ...i thought that worldly people who is not jw will not going to be resurrected .... what is the current teaching on resurrection for nonjws?...

It seems to me that death before armageddon, not the sacrifice of Jesus forgives sin in their mind. -

So, were they giving much credit to Jesus or downplaying his role compared to Jehovah? I am not sure I want to watch it... -

Cart Witnessing - Thrilling! Productive! Epic! Er.....um, well, not so much.....
by sir82 intalked with a pioneer recently, she was recounting her first experience with cart witnessing.. she brought the subject up, was going on & on & on & on about how wonderful the experience was, and how great, and how she enjoyed it so much, and it was so wonderful, and oh jehovah's blessing, and on and on and on...... a few questions to her revealed what really happened:.
-- a jw who owns a small restaurant in a strip mall allows jws to set up their cart outside his restaurant.
-- the restaurant is tucked pretty far out of the way, not prominent at all.

Why I remain one of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Brother Jeramy inallow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.
i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.
some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).

It's a big deal to leave all of your friends and family. That's really all there is to it. Pretend to be one and you can have what you want. But you aren't really living with integrity and being true to yourself and your own beliefs. I can speak to this, too. I've been a member of a baptist church for about 5 years now. Got born again, baptized, the whole works. I serve God by serving others in the community and have learned real truth and love how Jesus is transforming who I am. Told my JW family, who accused me of worshipping the devil now. Anyways, if I really was being true to myself, too, I would just go and get disfellowshipped so that I would have no ties to them anymore. But then...I would lose my family. So, I am just being a coward, really. I am praying that God would either make my family start to feel uncomfortable with the "truths" being presented and start to think for themselves or that suddenly I would be disfellowshipped without having to go and cause it to happen. But, I see now that even if my family would learn the ttatt that they still might stay in thinking they can just be a JW without serving the GB, sigh. It's a lose/lose either way. I guess staying the course that I am in, and having faith that it is in our Father's hands is the best way that I can have peace. Be still and know that I am God! -

I asked where is the proof?
by disillusioned 2 inarguing with my husband again, i asked where is the proof that jesus looked down on earth in 1919 and chose a small group of bible students in america apart from them saying it in their magazines.
also where is the proof that satan and his demons were cast down in 1914 just because first world war started.
neither of these things are in the bible only in their magazines.

They don't need proof. The governing body says so. The end. -

How do stop myself getting too Bitter?
by stuckinarut2 inyou know, i always maintained that during this fading process, and while learning ttatt, i would not let myself get "bitter twisted and angry".... but, in all honesty, if i examine myself, i have become quite bitter toward the org, toward the false friends and the gb.. i have become angry as i see the extent of damage i feel being raised in "the truth" has done.... i feel hurt towards the lost opportunities in life etc.... how do i not allow myself to get too swallowed up by such bitterness?.
i have always been a very happy, positive, selfless person.
i can put people at ease, i am someone people feel comfortable chatting to.

I am definitely fighting bitter feelings and resentment and judging them as arrogant, etc. What helps me is that the more I read God's word, the more I pray and seek Jesus, the more I care for others in the community, the less these issues affect me. Because, we can't change them...only God will put an end to that false system of beliefs. Take our focus off of them and seek the face of God! -

The Memorial - New Covenant
by lriddle80 inso, i went to the memorial tonight.
i've been out for about 10 years, but i went at my husband's suggestion to placate my parents.
i listened to the talk and about 90% of what they said, i agreed with.

So, if they can deceive people into thinking that they are not in the new covenant, but still believe in Jesus sacrifice to cover their sins....what is the harm in this...really?
Of course, there is the fact that it is incorrect, but what is the purpose of deceiving these people? To keep them from really being saved?
It's just that my whole family (not my husband or son) is in it and I wonder if they are really saved. They believe in the sacrifice of Jesus to forgive their sins, but do not believe they are born again or that they are a part of the new covenant. Is this the point? Since they don't believe these things, they aren't saved and so that is Satan's plan to deceive millions (as was pointed out tonight as to the number of non-partakers)

I listened to the talk and about 90% of what they said, I agreed with. The part about the new covenant, though, made me kind of upset because I understand all believers are part of the new covenant and I don't agree with their logic. (also the logic that we don't choose to be born the first time, so we can't possibly choose to be born again)
That being said. What is the purpose that Satan could have in making people believe they weren't a part of the new covenant?
I just thought, a little leaven spoils the whole loaf...

Attending memorial tomorrow?
by Ghiagirl inthis is my first year i will not attend memorial.
to be honest if it wasn't for my husband i would probably be going still.
he says what's the point, don't be one of those people who doesn't give a sh** but just shows there face once a year.

My husband said we should go to placate the family. I want to be true to myself and my own beliefs, but he's a little less black and white than me. Since he never was a JW, he doesn't see the big deal in going to make the family happy. Maybe it won't be. We shall see. I got a new dress for it, haha.... -

I talk about Jesus to my mom and she gets a sad look on her face and once she said "He's going to give the kingdom back to Jehovah anyway"....so, there's that. I'm not sure why she gets so upset when I mention him.
