I am curious to see if my mom invites me this year. I have gone to the last 5, I would say. But this time I am df'd and my parents probably have labeled me an apostate, so I doubt it!

Will you attend the Memorial 2020 ? - Covid-19 (Coronavirus)
by bats in the belfry in... or rather listen to the advice on their jw news website:.
show love to others.
while we all know the importance of attending christian meetings and participating in the public ministry, if you are sick, it is best to stay home to avoid infecting others.

In short, yes. Between my controlling family and the world of JW, I felt like I was wearing a straight jacket. I escaped from both when I was 19. But, it's only in the last year or 2 that I finally feel free and I am 40.

The Jehovah's witnesses will say anything to rob Jesus of the glory his father gave him. The Bible does teach the Trinity. It's like a mosaic. Bits and pieces of things that when you take a step back you see a picture form. It took me 10 years to finally admit that I believe in it. I would read a passage and say, "Hmmm, interesting" and then one day I bowed my knee, so to speak. I felt compelled to do it. Through my 10 years of being a Christian I had always felt like something was missing...after this realization, I don't feel like that anymore!! -

Believers: How do you know your view of your chosen holy book is the correct one?
by punkofnice indon't start fighting, darlings.
i am genuinely curious.
after all i was a jobo 50 years and thought the wbt$ was 100% correct.. i ask this because i see that, for example, christian denominations (or whatever), likely have differing interpretations of the same writing.

The experiences that I have with God line up with scripture. He guides me into all truth. He comforts me and works all things for good; he is always faithful and I see my prayers come to life. I have gone through the fire and my faith remained. I saw my family fall apart and be restored and I was comforted and carried through the painful process. I see these same things in other believer's lives...they aren't just my unique experiences. And I get to share in other's life transformations! And so much more that I can't express the width, depth and height of it all!! -

Ever notice this about X JWs
by JimmyYoung inits not just x jws but religious people in general.
they feel free to post this crap on the internet about jesus is lord share this post, or some drivel but then if you post any thing that questions it you get jumped on like someone saying the earth is a globe at a flat earth convention.
they can say what ever they want but don't dare question it.

That's pride, ego. My dad is the same way with Harley Davidson - there is no other bike. That's me with all my healthy food knowledge. That's my stepdaughter with politics. It's not just religious. -

Narcissism
by lriddle80 ini saw this video a few days ago by jw analyzer that was very disturbing.
what i have learned and experienced about a narcissist is that they will openly confess their wrongdoing, but they do it by accusing someone else of it.
i guess that is called projection.. in this video, the guy picks out 2 tactics of "satan" .

The second half of the video is about how Satan uses propaganda. Exactly!

But he is actually confessing what JW do, thereby calling themselves Satan. If only the rank and file had eyes that see and ears that hear!

Is it me or does Stephen Lett come across......
by JimmyYoung ini get the feelings that stephen lett tries to come across as mr. rogers but there are times it oozes through that he is a lot more dominant and controlling then he lets on.

I see what you mean! And I see the control and manipulation coming through.
Mr Rogers had real love behind his words, quite unlike Lett.

Christmas Trees.
by Lost in the fog inwe are all very familiar with the fact that jws do not celebrate xmas.
we probably used the same speech as we had been told from the platform that since xmas had its roots in paganism everything associated with it was a big no-no.
xmas trees, definitely a no-no!

My husband said that Christmas is just a wordly event on par with seeing a movie or going to a secular concert.
Our pastor says it is an opportunity to share Christ with people because they will be open to going to church during Christmas season.
Some years I will get into trying to buy the present that will show the person that they are seen and loved and it brings me joy. Some of them I enjoy Christmas songs. A few Christmases were disasters.
One year, I called it The Riddle Family Gift Exchange and did it on a different day to try to include my JW family and they said they were busy and didn't come. That was a bummer.
One year my husband gave $100 gift cards to each in my JW family and they weren't even going to acknowledge it and barely said Thank you. And were looking at each other kind of weird. I said it was just because we loved them. They spent it, though.
