Lady Lee, Thanks for posting this easay - this is a 'keeper' and should go into the 'best of' series! I actually feel pity for "Trevor" - a small man who only can feel more important, by stepping on others'.

What can we learn from the recent upheavals on the board
by Lady Lee ini had this this in my head and even had it typed out but didn't post it but i see some still need to talk about the trevor saga on the board.. i was reading some of the initial threads where many people posted how they felt about what trevor had done.
people used the words; anger, shock, disbelief, hurt, sickened, duped, suckered, creeped out, confused, stupid, and betrayed.. given the situation those are all perfectly normal responses.
it isn't easy when we find out we have been lied to.

My aunt
by coffee_black inmy 85 year old aunt, who has worked every day up until 2 weeks ago is very ill. she has been losing weight for about 6 months, (without trying) but for the past month it has really accelerated.
my cousin finally got her to go to the doctor , and there will be lots of tests to find the cause.
she had lung cancer 12 years ago and has had a clean bill of health ever since... until now.

Doug, Thank you for your 'tribute' to Larc (Carl). Hmmm, interestingly today would have been his 67th birthday! HA - did he 'contact' you and tell you to make this post? We are married for 42 years - tho I confess, sometimes it seemed like 200! Life was never dull with my old fart, that's for sure. Sometimes, when I'm down, I think of one of his stupid jokes, and just have to laugh. I recall, however, that he was so happy with your JFK/Berta write-up and truly felt that you had more ability to tell the saga then he had. He was very appreciative of your and Leolaia's efforts to fill out the facts. I believe he was instrumental in my stroke recovery - he just wouldn't let me give up (though, there were times I resented his efforts, and called him my 'nagger'. Our oldest daughter phoned last night (she is in her last year at Emory University, Medical School.) She was remembering her dad (birthday and all) And commented it it wasn't for his 'pushing' she would never have taken the plunge to go on to medical school. If there is a beyond - I'm certain he is thinking of so many of you. Carl thought you were brilliant, Doug, and so enjoyed your wit, and ability to cut through the bs of the Watchtower. I am doing well, and will be spending the cold winter in Hawaii. Many thanks to all who have replied on this post. Love, Zazu (Jan Thornton)

Hortensia. I send love and my thoughts out to you at this time of loss.
by Sparkplug ini saw this earlier.. i'm so sorry - it must be painful for two people who love each other to have to part this way - one goes through the door alone and the other stays behind alone.
all the more because my wonderful nephew was killed in an auto accident today, a young man with three children.
death is so cruel.. and in the wake of such terrible news today, i did not miss what you had said, but rather blocked it out for a moment.

i will just place it where it could be found; i will maybe leave it on a seat or under it.

As a former librarian, I can tell you that local Jw's often peruse the the reigion section and STEAL copies of COC or other anti-jw books, just to keep them out of the hands of the public - there brand of theocratic warefare! At my last position we lost six copies of COC due to theft. Also, David Reed's books were a close second.
