That's scary - and to think my JW father got laid off for refusing to do military contracts (machining parts).

Relieved or gutted, which are you?
by sleepy inis finding out that jehovahs witnesses are not the truth a relief for you as you no longer have to go to meetings etc or does it make you gutted as there is no everlasting life and no new system?.
i started of relieved , then gutted , and whent through cycles of both now i feel that it has to be relief.. though i will probably never get over the fact that for 26 years of my life everything i believed was wrong and i will allways have a small longing for that new world, but the relief that i can live my own life outweighs that.

I know this may sound cruel, but run before you're seriously mindf*&ked! He is being disloyal to his beliefs by deep-down wanting a relationship with you. You may be able to win him to you but, more often than not, he will feel guilty about his disloyalty to the JW's and one day say that he cannot even ever speak to you again because his conscience is starting to bother him. And then, where does that leave you - brokenhearted I'm sure. It's best to tell him to get lost for all the previously mentioned reasons. If he later decides to choose you over the JW's, then you can always go back. Never underestimate the power this religion has over people!

My relationship with my father has been non-existent (he holds a position of "authority" in the congregation and my relationship with my mother has been strained since I walked away. However, things have actually changed somewhat since the Dateline airing. My father inquired about the show to the elders and was told that they had a big meeting about it at the Farm (Wallkill) and a letter will be distributed to those in the congregation who ask about the show. My mother called me tonight and said that, because of the response my father got regarding the show, she wants to come over Thursday night and watch my copy of the show. One day at a time....

Whatever you do regarding your wife, PLEASE make sure that your children are not isolated by the WTS. In other words, if they want to play sports, etc., make sure they are able to follow their dreams. Really put your foot down on this one - the damage caused by the "no part of the world" philosophy can be very devastating.

Kingdom Hall arson attack.
by nicolaou ini learned tonight that the rugby, warwickshire kingdom hall has been attacked with some type of incendiary.. not sure how extensive the damage is but sufficient enough so that all meetings there are suspended.
no public talks for a while - watchtower studies to be held at the group centres.. there is a lot going on in rugby circuit at the moment!.

Don't worry 'Nic. Apparently it will take 3 months to repair the damage (I got a phone call this morning). The arson attack took place last Wednesday night by someone shoving combustible material through a vent to the kitchen area and lighting them. Fortunately no one was there. Rugby may have to share with Coventry for a while no one knows yet....

Watchtower dissolves congregations?
by TheStar ini have heard this from jws many times.
they say that when the whole congregation is corrupt it is clearly noticable that jehovah's spirit is not with them.
eventually if the whole congregation is corrupt the gb dissolves the whole congregation.. jws say this as if it were from personal experience.

Hi Star,
I know this for a fact to be true!!! When I lived in Ireland and was a JW, the cong. I went to was so incredibly corrupt, accusations flying, and the fact you had to pay a pound each time you walked into the kingdom hall, which was in a brother's house (who was doing quite well $$$, by the way). During one meeting one brother stood up during another brother's talk and called him "a puppet of Satan". The big bosses from Dublin came in and disbanded the congregation, forcing the members to go to the Sligo cong. nearby.
