I can't believe that crap. I love Yoga, in fact I will be in Yoga class after work tonight. I think the WTS is against exercise that promotes mediatation with the pretense that it leaves the mind open for demons, when, in actuality they just don't want to lose their grasp on the "mind control".

Yoga Anyone?
by dobby ini just read with interest an article entitled yoga - just an exercise or something more?
in the august 1, 2002 watchtower.. i know that growing up a witness i had always been told that yoga was related to spiritism and the occult.
however, with the popularity of yoga among the mainstream in recent years as a means to keep fit not as a means to find spiritual enlightment, i thought the society may have lightened up a bit.

This is one part therapy and two parts friendship. Not only do we need support when we leave, but many of us who were once wholeheartedly in the "truth" have no friends when we decide to leave. The site is a great way to help me readjust to the real world.

The Medium of "Truth"
by jschwehm in"that is why i believe it is essential to view bible truths as existing independently of the wts, though the wts publications continue to attach themselves to core bible teachings in such a way as to depict themselves as the medium of such teachings, rather than the bible.".
the comment above is very interesting.
if i understand correctly this is something that greg stafford has written.

That comment reminds me of how the WTS used to critize the Catholic Church for not letting its followers read the bible themselves (keeping it in Latin, etc.) hundreds of years ago. Actually the WTS isn't any better and, they make it worse by making its followers feel that they are actually reading the scriptures when they are reading the WTS interpretation....

For a short period of time I experienced the joys of dating within the organization. Here are two of my personal examples:
I dated a guy for about a month who's mother (in her late 30s by the way) was supposedly of the "anointed". She said the angles spoke directly to her and, when I visited their house it was piled to the ceiling with clothes from yard sales. She loved to buy used clothes and put them in piles. She also had a big ol' vibrator on the bed that my "boyfriend" insisted was for her neck when I asked him about it. It was quite an interesting shape! I broke up with him after a month - 'cause he was a little bit out there, if you know what I mean.
I also dated a guy, an elder's son, that one day when I stopped by to find out why he wasn't at the Sunday meeting, found him in bed with his 15 year old cousin. Of course he denied it and I remember the elders had the nerve to counsel me that because of the two witness rule, I had to wait for Jehovah to bring it out - all while I was sobbing in the back of the Kingdom Hall (we dated for about a year and had plans to get married). When I look back at that situation it just sickened me.
So - any more good stories out there?

Work - I'm an applications engineer for a control systems manufacturer (get to travel to the boring parts of the US doing installations and training for new devices).
Play - I run 3 miles a day and love to garden, hike, go to the beach etc...everything that involves being outside is alright with me!

It's all a conscience matter my friend....I treated myself to a tattoo for my birthday a year and a half ago! And, the tattoos of a hopi tribal symbol to boot! (How pagan). It's so hypocritical - tattoos are only deemed as "wrong" because society sees them as rebellious.

I was always so devastatingly serious during my committee meetings. If I had realized as a teen that it was all a power trip I surely would have had some fun with it. Like maybe feign psychopathic tendencies or nymphomania or something like that...
