Suggestion: Female PR person for Silentlambs?

after watching the follow-up discussion program to panorama ([url] http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/cta/progs/02/forum/panorama/jehovah15jul.ram[/url]) i couldn't help but wonder if it would not be in the interests of silentlambs to have a 'pr' spokesperson in addition to bill bowen.

this suggestion is not meant to detract from the courageous efforts of bill bowen which have been impressive, but it might be good to detract focus off of the religious status of bill bowen (ie.

whether he is an "active witness" or not).. the question was asked to bill bowen during the follow-up program at approximately 7.5 minutes into the program whether bill was an "active" witness.

if you asked a jw, who jehovahs witness were patterned after, they would all answer, the first century cong.

i also would have answered that way, when i was a dub.

i have never seen such fumbling from so called 'mouthpieces' of god, and so public too.. and our presiding overseer from scotland didn't do too well either did he?

although he had probably been warned not to get involved before the panorama team got there.

Wow! Welcome - what a great first post! I thought of the same thing when Ted J. was ambushed coming off the stage - if he truly has God's Holy Spirit he's going to say something brilliant. After all, we're taught in the organization that the governing body are "mini gods". However, his words were just more dancing around the issue.

Anointed Phaseout?

i was surprized by the deletion of the new book-for-baptism's.

chapter on partaking/being anointed.. can it be that they are thinking of de-emphasizing or fading.

my first reaction would be no, that this.

I think dantheman is right. They are in great need of additional convents to replace the stream of people who are leaving. They need to "lower the bar" for entry into the organization - so why clutter the mind with teachings difficult to comprehend for some.

Would you welcome a pity visit?

with all the talk about shunning in the religion, i was wondering if anyone remembered that the elders occasionally visit the shunned?

i call these "pity visits", in that they are basically going down to the slums to see if the lepers want some medicine to lessen the pain.. .

it seems to me that such a visit would be very insulting, not so much because of the above thought.

No one has visited me in years. I guess they can feel the bad aura surrounding the house.

i've done a quick version to watch in windows media player format .... http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/media.asp.

select the bbc programme from the drop-down list (it's in two parts).. the first programme starts at about 2 minutes (you get to see our weather report first) and has a good intro by the newsreader.. let me know if you have any problems ... i'll probably put a better quality version up when i have more time.
