  Moral Obligation

  do we have a moral obligation to help witnesses see the truth about the wt?.

  part of me feels that i should just be happy i am out.

  We should help those who want to be helped. Otherwise it is completely frustrating to try to help. It will just get us angry because they cannot see the real truth.

  I smoked for awhile. Then I realized that every relative that smoked in my family was dead from lung cancer by the time they hit their fifties....I decided that I wanted to live much longer than that. Maybe once a month I'll have a cig - but I only buy pure 100% tobacco and hand roll it. At least I'm not getting the chemicals.

  Shock encounter for the Apostle...

  i was waiting for a bus to get back to my house 3 days ago and guess who drove past in a car???

  the first jw i ever studied with and who got me in to "the truth" (he's the same age as me, 24) .

  he was driving a nissan sylvia (sports car...no-no 4 jw's) and he had his left eyebrow pierced.... i wonder what his story is??.

  Forget the sports car....isn't having your eyebrow pierced a big time no-no for JWs. Seeing that, I would definately wonder what was up.

So one night we read your series, parts 1 through 6 together. His jaw just dropped when he learned the truth! He said he couldn't believe that this pivotal belief was based on 19th century quackscience. Someday I hope my parents will open their minds enough to read what you have put together. I'm sure it was a lot of work and I wanted to say that it was really appreciated.

  i have dated a non-active (from birth) jw off and on for the past 3 years and i have noticed that he is not very affectionate at all.

  i'm wondering was it part of the upbringing?

  could it be that since the relationships were shallow this never was an issue.. has anyone else experienced this.. very curious

  i read on another post that something new was started at the last elder's meeting about "turning in time" or "getting time in".anybody know what it is?

  They work on a system of peer pressure. You've got to keep up with the national average. The pioneers are special, etc. That's what keeps the whole cult going. If there was no pressure, who'd go out in service and deal with all that rejection?
