I think they should have an article entitled: "Masturbation Prevents Bitchiness".

(((WELCOME))). My husband and I were both regular pioneers. Then, my husband returned from pioneer school and said he would never set foot in the Kingdom Hall again - he said he had finally seen the light of hypocracy.
Needless to say - I was upset and floored. I continued going to meetings and played the roll of the wife whose wicked husband had DA'd himself. But, finally, through my stubborness I began to see that the points he was making to me were correct. I also began to realize that I had always been treated as "not quite worthy" by the organization and now was being labeled as the sister who needed help because of what had happened. So I finally left as well - the evidence was too great to ignore.
That was over 7 years ago....
So I guess what I'm trying to say is, stand up for how you truly feel - you never know.

The Meaning of Names....?
by SpiceItUp inthere are some that are obvious and then others that just baffle me to no end..... yes i am talking about your user names.... do any of you have stories behind them or are they significant for some reason or are they just a word you made up?.
mine...well its easy.... i got the nickname of spicy back in nov of last year when i dyed my hair this crazy red color and the name of the color was "spiced ginger".
the rest of it is because i love to make things more interesting---- sorta of like adding a bit of spice to the stew (hopefully i come across as that as well .

Mine was a nobrainer for me to make up ... zen because I am heavily involved in Taoism, Zen, and Native American Spirituality ... punk because I've dressed like a goth/punk for as long as I remember (even to the Kingdom Hall - no wonder I was avoided like the plague). I too had "spicy hair", but I change the color frequently. Currently it's jet black.
Plus - zen and punk are contradictions, just like the paradoxical person that I am.

Would/Do you wear a Cross around your neck ??
by Prisca inafter all that we had drummed into us about not the cross, and particularly about not venerating the symbol itself, i have been wondering about this issue.. so, what are your views about wearing a cross around your neck ?
is it just a fashion accessory, or does it mean something to you ?.
inquiring minds would like to know

I don't think I would wear a cross for the same reason Windchaser mentioned. Why should I wear a reminder of Jesus's torture. However, my house is full of other Eastern and Native American spiritual relics and idols.

I just finished "The Story of B" by Daniel Quinn. It basically about a Catholic Priest sent to investigate a lecturer in Europe who may be the Antichrist. I won't give away any more of it, but there were definately some interesting theories about the belief structure of the last 4000 years being an evolutionary flaw.

1000 asked to leave Brooklyn Bethel!
by cyberguy in1000 were asked to leave brooklyn bethel (actually, this includes the farm and patterson) "voluntarily!
" only 6 replied to the request in the last 3 weeks.
it looks like the "waters" of bethel are drying up, or rather, their revenues are drying up!

My parents told me months ago that there was some serious downsizing going on (in the days before they thought I was a big evil apostate). Many were sent home except for the few that had a special skill or were there for years. I feel bad for these misguided people, thinking they would be at Bethel for as long as they were "good". With no college, they don't have much hope in this downsizing world.

The Young Anointed Speak
by Robdar ini have a friend that is of the anointed and dear to my heart.
"i do feel it is time to reveal my heavenly hope.
i am a young anointed jehovah's witness and i have long observed what is going on in the organization.

I think people who think they are of the anointed have delusions of grandeur. They want to consider themselves like gods or that they have some special direct connection.

I have just starting to go to moon ceremonies as well. Except since we are on the east coast we smudge with sweetgrass. I also smudge at home on a weekly basis. I found out last month that my father is half Lenape (native American) so I've been really diving into my native roots.

Best and worst experience in your religion?
by haujobbz inill tell you my best experience in my belief was being totally drunk at my mates wedding surrounded by jehovahs witnesses who were trying to talk to me even though i didnt want to talk to them (and they were the ones who ignored me at meetings lol)and all i could do is smile at them because i couldnt understand what the hell they were speaking about, and i was so happy and they were so offended because i was pis~@d.

Worst - The hell my parents were put through as they sat through all my teenage committee meetings. To this day they still think I am inherently wicked. In fact, the elders made my dad a servant the day I moved out of the house.
Best - I never knew I could be such a wonderful person once I left.

What are your careers?
by The_Bad_Seed in.
having milled around this board for a little while, and getting to know the odd poster a tad better, one (at least i do) gets to wondering what some of you do for work.... i work installing custom hardwood flooring and ceramic tiles, with the odd wc renovation, and was going to start a career last year in avionics, but our friend osama put my plans on the backburner, until (or if) the canadian industry returns to normal.
i am considering going to university to further my photography skills, and am currently (and very slowly) working on a pictorial book that i hope to be published by the time i am 95. oh, and i devote 87643 hours of service to yhwh each month.. your turn.... .

I graduated High School in 1989 just like you P. And, just like you, my parents refused to let me follow my dreams and go to college. It was off to regular pioneer-dom for me. I'm alot smarter these days and will be graduating next May with my batchelor's degree. I currently work as an applications engineer. Not bad for a JW who was once heading nowhere.
