I used to have horrible dreams about Demons attacking me. It's funny that when I left they went away... Yet the organization is suposed to protect you from the demons. Huh.

A poll of xJWs in reference to blood and guts
by writerpen inin a thread started by uglyduckling she stated that her dreams were: "ghastly visions of bloody mayhem and mutilation, not only of me, but also my husband and my little dog.".
i had been working with a therapist for about a year prior to leaving the borg and one of my complaints was that throughout my life i had a recurring dream of blood and guts.
for example i would be walking down main street where i lived and there would be blood, guts, and body parts everywhere.

Apostate terminology
by Mum inmy daughter and i, fun-loving apostates that we are, have some terms we use regarding the wt organization and other cults.
i would like my fellow posters here to tell us their terms, buzz words, etc., to add to our list: to get the ball rolling, two of our favorites are:.
cookie-cutter theology.

Disturbing Dub Quote...
by SYN inheh, while we'd love to have kids, we aren't too keen on the idea in this system...but the only way to guarentee that is to practice abstinence and we aren't too keen on that idea either, therefore we've "planned" in a way for it, but aren't planning on it exactly either... .
this is very disturbing indeed.
if you're going to bring another human being into this world, it should be a carefully considered decision and done at the appropriate time, when both partners feel it is right and you can support the child.

Eyes Open
by WildTurkey inas i look back at my life as a dub, now that i have my eyes open, sometimes i really feel like a fool, because some of the things we believed are just dumb, shows the power of fear and mind control.

((((UglyDuckling)))) - you're thread title "grieving" says it all. There is a grieving process of fear, sorrow, anger, etc. that you have been and will be going through. Hang in there, this is normal, and we are all here for you. Don't be afraid to lean on others who have been where you have been for support.

I wonder about the people in these congregations

i know they are all separate congregations in different areas.

I wondered the same thing myself. How brainwashed do these people have to be to just sit back and watch this happen? I would be in an uproar. But you know how it is, "don't let yourself be stumbled by men, etc.". There ar so many people who say, "yea the people are all messed up but the truth is the truth". This is completely contradictory to the statement "by their actions you will know them". You see, by their actions, it's obvious the truth is not the truth.

You are going to feel better and better over time truthseeker. You will make many new friends, true friends, not friends forced upon you by the WTS. I've found that most worldly people are nicer! You've got your whole future before you - enjoy it -

I blame my parents. They were baptized when I was 10. The "truth" was the only option at home and then, over time it just seeps into your pores until you're believing it too. I was smart enough to know it was a lie years later. My parents haven't been so lucky. Those are the ones I feel bad for. You know they completely buy into and can't see that its all a lie.

I drive a 10 year old Chevy S-10. The rust holds everything together. Someday, when it dies, I'm going to get a Subaru WRX. Though I think this truck's going to last forever....it's already past the 150 mark and still cruising 100+ miles a day.
