  i don't mean in general, i mean for exjw's... is there a noticable advantage to pairing with someone with the same background?

  i'd like to read your thoughts and experiences on this subject.. i've been romantically involved few times, since "the light got brighter" for me about the organization, with people who didn't know anything about jw's before meeting me.

  one of them viewed my exjw activity as a bit obsessive but okay as long as she got to obsess on her favorite obesssions, too.

  many thanks to stephanus for getting this started and all the hard work putting together the 'whos who' site.. i've added an additional box to the profile page where you can enter a short biography (plain text - no formatting yet).

  this is displayed when people click on your profile link (the 'membership card' icon under you poster name).

  i will add a link to the member listing page to indicate people who have biographies with a link to display them.. let me know if you have any problems.

  Now we can correct some of Stephanus's little "errors" and write our prophesies and preach and stuff. Can we write in other peoples bios too? I've got a few paragraphs to say about Stephanus and Hippikon and two and a half chapters of dirt on Tina. Hey where's lil' sister Tina's bio????

  Postcard from Australia

  strong gale force winds and storms have been lashing the coast of new south wales for the past two weeks bringing unseasonally cool to cold weather.

  the bush fires that had been burning throughout the state's interior have been extinguished.

  now the state government has had to react to the new storm damage disaster and the state emergency service has been working around the clock for the past week to repair and cover damaged roofs.

  i'm not one for christmas music generally.

  mrs thirdson has been playing various cds at home and in my car when we are together and i appreciate some of the music but at this time of year i tend to hear too much.

  of course growing up i despised christmas music because it was either pagan or just too commercialized.. today i was deeply moved by james taylor's melancholy version of the oft recorded song of this title.

  The agonies that traitors bring

  when a nation learns of a traitor in their midst, that nation's people show reactions that reflect anguish and torment.

  such was the case in the united states when it was learned that a us citizen had been captured while fighting for the taliban.. this evening in australia, the shocking news is that an australian, "one of our own", has also been captured by the northern alliance in afghanistan.

  the captive had received training from the al-qaeda movement.. here is tonights' headline news 'downunder':.

  I think the papers screaming "TRAITOR!" is a bit rich and as silly as screaming "HERO!" about the same guy. When the lad joined the fight in Kosova we were all being encouraged to sympathise with the Moslem cause and even calling for them to be armed to defend themselves against thier Serbian agressors. It may well turn out the guy turned against Australia at some point, then fair enough, shoot the bastard. But I take some of the emotive headlines at the moment with a spoonful of salt and bad memories of the way my home papers lied and covered up the truth, playing a big part in the jailing of Lindy Chamberlain.

  14. God says he knows everybody, and he knows if a person is going to follow God or not, so God can forgive that person. But if God knows the future, wouldn't there a destiny for us? that we cannot choose our own lives?
