  Dear Brother zev:

  We are pleased to respond to your letter received XXXX XX, 2001, wherein you inquire about the Watch Tower Society's former registration with the United Nations as an NGO (nongovernmental organization) with the UN's Department of Public Information (DPI).

  Our purpose for registering with the Department of Public Information as an NGO in 1991 was to have access to research material available on health, ecological, and social problems at the United Nations library facilities. We had been using the library for many years prior to 1991, but in that year it became necessary to register as an NGO to have continued access. Registration papers filed with the United Nations that we have on file contain no statements that conflict with our Christian beliefs. Moreover, NGOs are informed by the United Nations that "association of NGOs with the DPI does not constitute their incorporation into the United Nations system, nor does it entitle associated organizations or their staff to any kind of privileges, immunities or special status."

  Still, the Criteria for Association of NGOs--at least in their latest version--contain some language that we cannot subscribe to. When we realized this, we immediately withdrew our registration. We are grateful that this matter was brought to our attention.

  We are glad to provide the above comments in answer to your inquiry.

  that i got my letter in response to the wtbts from patterson, ny.

  i dont need to post it.

  i was blown off by a form letter.

  i'm all done with this.

  i'm compiling my disassociation letter and the evidence needed to expose this lie for what it is.

  A question about those who are disassociated

  when i disassociated myself i just walked out and didn`t come back.i gave the elders no explanation,i just told them not to bother me again,that was in 1974.when i read the posts on this forum,it seems as though some feel the need to give a formal explanation.why is this ?are the jws demanding an explanation if you leave?if so why would you go along with this invasion of privacy?i would appreciate it,if someone could bring me up to date on this...thanks...outlaw

  i'll give my 2 cents.

  i am writing my letter now.
  its gonna be a book.

  why? circumstances.

  i want every elder to know exactly why i am walking away.
  exactly all the things that have bothered me. i dont give a rats turd if they actually read it or not. i dont even care if my soon to be ex wife reads it or not. the point is it will be available to them and if they WANT to know the real reasons, then they can read it. it will be detailed, exact issues that i've had, and others discovered thanks to this site and some very good books i have read.

  i dont do it as i feel i HAVE to according to THEIR standards.
  i do it because I WANT TO. and , if i can afford the copying costs, one will go to every address on my not so secret congregations roster, which happens to include my home phone number, not published and put on this list and distributed to who knows how many people. against my wishes.

  i'm going with a bang. i dont give a rat turd either. i want EVERYONE to know how i feel, and their gonna know.

  fortunately, i have family to turn to. everyone of my sisters and mum and dad are there for me to turn to. the hard part is walking away from a long marriage. but.....i will survive.

  what was the last straw?

  the reply i got from the wtbts, ov er the UN scandle. i took much time and effort in my letter to those buffons. what i got back was a blow off form letter.

  i'm pissed as hell.

  so i'll make sure i hang the bastards with the evidence this time.

  this time i wont need a reply, my letter is going to say it all.

  and although it may not wake anyone up, i'll have the satisfaction of being able to say, I DID MY BEST.

  Secret Agenda

  more than likely this will sound like a naive question to some of you, but what is your theory as to the wbts' secret agenda?

  i don't see any of them living it up....as far as i know all the governing body lives at bethel year round, eating in the cafeteria with everyone else.. what would their reason be to collect & hoard money, or belong to the un?

  if you dont believe a gb member isnt worshipped, go to a district convention, or go wherever one of the old codgers speaks.

  watch what happens after the meeting ends.

  he is surrounded, and worshipped as something holy, even to the extent that people clamour after the pope when he's around.

  Mispronunciations at the meetings

  moxy raised a point in the "exaggeration" thread that aggravated me at the meetings.

  mispronunciations.

  moxy mentioned the word 'hyperbole' as frequently being mispronounced.. another one that bugged me was 'epitome'.

  If Possible - That UN Letter Needs Distribution

  as a tool for enabling further awareness, from within the congregations, to the activities of the organisation, in my estimation, the un letter of disassociation, needs wider publication, and distribution, certainly into the hands of individual brothers and sisters.. in thus action, much might be generated towards effective solutions in.

  general public education about the machinations of the wt corporations/networks.. does anyone else see this tool (letter) as a key that can be used?.
