in the april edition of ex-jw peter barnes newletter, "out of darkness", i found the following statement: "in recent years, the society has dropped the term "governing body", but in practice it is still operating.
" i was shocked to read this.
i had not heard anything about it.
Thanks for giving me the info I wanted, Blondie. I really appreciate it.

Euphenism, thank you for the information that the WTS literature still referred to the GB as the "Governing Body" last year. Please, would you be able to quote me a sentence from a piece of WTS literature from last year (or more recent) using the term "Governing Body", and let me know what it was from (WT, AW, etc) , and page number, it was in? Thanks so much.

Have any of you heard anything about the term "Governing Body" being dropped? If so, how did you learn of this? In the Society's literature? If this term has been dropped, how is the GB referred to nowadays?

I've read the book and it is very compelling. I am excited to hear her speak, so thought I'd let you all know about it. By the way, Psychology Today magazine (December 2002) gave this book a real thumb's up.
