Do You Support Trump Being Impeached Again?
by minimus init looks like it can happen again and i suspect if it does happen, the senate will not convict either because they can’t convict him since it’s after his presidency or simply because they don’t have sufficient votes..

What “Secret Sins” Do You Think Many JWs Are “Guilty “ Of?
by minimus ini know a lot of witnesses that drink a lot!
secret sins people would confess to the elders were masturbation, dating and touching certain areas and anger issues.
some fathers/husbands looked like model figures until you heard from the family that the dictator ms were horrible at home in more ways than one..

I knew of an elder and his wife who were studying with this woman and her family. She came to meetings and seemed very interested in what she was learning. Evidently for months, the elder who along with his wife were Gilead graduates, the elder was having an affair with the woman! She was a beautiful blonde eyed elder’s wife and honestly he was a 300 pound bald man that was in my estimation homely. As soon as the elder’s wife realized what was going on she kicked him to the curb, got divorced and he was quickly disfellowshipped. That secret sin was a doozy.

C T Russell and His Numerology.
by Lost in the fog ini came across this older wt which i assume c t russell wrote the article.
unlike modern practitioners of numerology who calculate a value for each letter of the alphabet, russell simply adds up the number of letters in each word to arrive at [horror of horrors] 666.. and he lists there on the page each one of the organisations that must accordingly be part of the great harlot with 18 letters [in english] in their titles, because 18 is clearly 6+6+6 or 666!
strangely he hasn't stopped to think about another possibility for an 18 letter title.

Russell makes sense to me.

Looking Back Were There Any “Apostates” In Your Congregation?
by minimus ini remember knowing some jws that expressed their own personal viewpoints regarding what a scripture meant that was at odds with society teachings.
in the 60 and 70’s, that was pretty much tolerated until the great purge in 1979 and 1980. as a matter of fact, it wasn’t unusual for witnesses to get together and discuss personal questions and viewpoints they might have.
it wasn’t unusual to send letters to the society asking what was considered the right or wrong view.

As an elder, the question nearly all baptismal candidates ( lol that sounds so stupid) flunked was who was the faithful and discreet slave. Of course they changed their answer to that one too.
The kicker is you have to give the answers the organization teaches at the time. Even if they are wrong it doesn’t matter.

How Many Masks Will You Wear?
by minimus inthere are recommendations that we should start doubling up on masks.
some have even suggested that tripling masks would even be better!
what’s your opinion of wearing numerous masks?
-
minimus
Indoor tennis requires you to wear a mask if you are playing doubles but if you are playing singles you are exempt. Crazy

Funny how married couples were so scared to talk about their doubts that they both had the same thinking only didn’t want to say anything for fear that might get blackballed.

Mick, it’s true we were telling people to wait on Jehovah. To me that tells me many Witnesses didn’t 100% accept things but went along in the meantime. ( prospective apostates)...

There was a nearby congregation that went crazy. If you HINTED at any negative comment or attitude toward the elders , you were disfellowshipped for either apostasy or causing divisions.
