DJ,
I understand precisely what you mean.
BTW, yes to your first question.
the watchtower magazines have a section entitled "life stories" where the testimonies of persons who have spent their entire lives in the service of the organization or bethel are narrated.
in the september 1st 2002 watchtower magazine on page 25 i found the story of gladys allen who recounts almost 60 years of her life spent as first a regular then special pioneer.
typical of miss allen but evident in many other of these testimonies, i find that mention is made of wts publications, governing body members, theocratic schools attended etc.

Typical of Miss Allen but evident in many other of these testimonies, I find that mention is made of WTS publications, Governing Body members, Theocratic Schools attended etc. However, I am hard-pressed to find any reference to how the Bible changed her life, or her love for Jesus Christ.
I do not by any means put in doubt the love Miss Allen and others who write these testimonies have for God and Jesus, but I find it disappointing that although she spent 57 years following in the footsteps of Jesus, Christ is never mentioned once! (Only the word Christian appears one time in the entire article). And she had 5 pages available to her!
Instead Jehovah is mentioned a few times, including N. H Knorr, the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, The Watchtower and Consolation magazines, the Million Now Living Will Never Die book, even carrying the placard "Religion is a snare and a racket". But no mention of Christ.
How sad that our Savior is sidelined in this manner by the Watchtower Society and the Dubs, allowing our Lord to take backseat to the visible Organization here on earth.
i'm in the questioning mood so here goes:.
1, can paedophiles change for the better?
if they change should we forgive them?
I have read both C of C and In Search of.... In my situation I can't walk away much as I would like to, I have too much to loose. My whole family and all my friends are Dubs, and getting df'd or da'ing myself would be catastrophic to my family. Rest assured though that as a result of these books and others, including many websites, my faith has cooled considerably. I stopped making monthly reports and only attend Sunday meetings to keep the peace.
I can't now serve the Organization the way I used to since I now have come to the understanding that this religion is not better nor does it get special treatment than other Christian religion. I also realize that living the Dub Christian way I am being robbed of having a meaningful relationship with God and Jesus. But I'm trapped. I'm trapped.
a friend on another (totally not related to jw's) discussion board posted this story in response to something i said about getting rid of telemarketers.. .
a funny story.. .
one saturday while in my apartment at college i saw three women with jehovah's witness propaganda proceed into the front area of the fourplex.
those women were probably good old fashioned Dub sisters who were trained never to look at the male member lest they turn to a pillar of salt!
for the month of october , i have four court hearings.
i had one yesterday and the link below to the calgary sun describes what happened.
i didn't have a lawyer, so i represented myself.
I would have loved to be in that courtroom and watched the faces of the WTS lawyers as you spoke those words of Control Techniques!
i know of a congregation on the east coast that is having all bookstudies meet at the kingdom hall!
that's right--no bookstudies in private homes, at least for now.... has anyone else heard of this?
and what could be the reason?
I hated having bookstudies in private homes. We were always 8-10 present and the pressure was on to answer every 2nd or 3rd paragraph.
i spent an hour looking at this site and decided to join.
i was a jw from 1973 to 1986. yikes!
not a smart thing to do.

panama city zookeeper mauled by lion .
panama city, fla. - a 500-pound african lion mauled a zookeeper who had stepped into the animal's cage thursday to pose for a magazine photo.. george koll, 61, was attacked in the head and throat by the male lion.
This proves the WTS photographer is not blessed by Jehovah!
to be able to properly "encourage one another, more so as you behold the end drawing near", we as jw's were instructed to do the following: .
(1) stay after the meeting for "upbuilding association", and .
(2) rather than talk about mundane things of life, discuss the finer points of the meeting just held.
I never talk about the meeting after its all over. The material presented is too boring and repetive.
