i just want to pass a message along that if anyone watches cbc's "the fifth estate" on wednesday, january 22, 2003 (that's this wednesday night), they should see a promotion for the upcoming jehovah's witness child abuse show at 9:00pm, next wednesday, january 29, 2003.. the promotion should be aired at or near the end of the show - around 9:50 to 9:55 pm on january 22.

I wouldn't mind taping it. But then how do you transfer the show from VHS format to the internet?

Ray Franz, DF DA & non JW's Salvation
by livingagain inif someone disassociated themselves from the watchtower society due to research that convinced them that the watchtower was erroneous on many issues and yet still felt convinced that jehovah is much more gracious with regards to salvation than what we learned through the watchtower, is it possible for such a one to get reinstated, even if they did not believe numerous things that the watchtower teaches?
but is this possible if someone still does not believe that certain doctrines the watchtower teaches are bible based (i.e.
: 1914, blood transfusions, disfellowshipping, etc)?

I checked the site out and got the following:
-this fellow claims to be of the anointed,
-he thinks he knows everything,
-he claims the Watchtower Society will be judged harshly by Jehovah because of some false/erroneous teachings, but that it is STILL God's only approved chanel of communication between Himself and mankind,
-many prophetic interpretations of the Watchtower Society are wrong and that he has it right!
-and a few more pompous claims. -

lying decievers and their methods
by refiners fire in1922 certainly was a good year for watchtowers.
many of them were fascinating reading for an observant student of watchtower history.
recurring subjects that year revolved around russells chronology and the dogmatic insistance that russells dates were divinely inspired.

Hi refinersfire,
The ancient Assyrians were notorious in falsifying their history, and Sennacherib is no exception.
The WTS claims that ALL the ancients falsifyed their records, including the Babylonians. By making this claim, the WTS wants to draw attention to the membership that Babylonian clay tablets indicating the destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezar in 587 are false, and that only the WTS interpretation is correct, namely 537 + 70 years = 607 + 2520 years + 1914.

I found out that a pedophile was among us
by stichione intoday i found out that in our congregation a married man was accused by his nephew (not a jw) of pedophile acts commited over 10 years ago.
the accusation came out only two years ago when the nephew grew up.
the grandmother of this youngster (mother-in-law of the accused) approached the elders of her congregation with this information.

Quite a few people in our congregation know of these events now. I wonder who knows in the new congregation that there is a pedophile among them?

Today I found out that in our congregation a married man was accused by his nephew (not a JW) of pedophile acts commited over 10 years ago. The accusation came out only two years ago when the nephew grew up.
The grandmother of this youngster (mother-in-law of the accused) approached the elders of her congregation with this information. What did the elders tell her? To let it rest and it will blow away. (These events took place in Canada, where apparently it is mandatory for the clergy to report child molestation to police in all provinces).
The wife of the accused approached the elders (a different congregation from that of the grandmother of the youngster) and informed them of what happened. Although I don't have all the information, it appers these elders also did nothing. The couple then moved to another congregation.
What infuriates me is that this fellow, for 1 year during this period of accusation, attended meetings with the rest of us. NOBODY outside the family was aware of the details of these events, except for the elders. I have 3 boys all under 11 that I would bring with me to all the meetings (I only go Sundays now). I can't even imagine the dangers I put my sons by letting them walk around the hall unsupervised before and after meetings.
The elders did not find it appropriate to warn the parents in the congregation that there was a potential problem of pedophilia and to watch their kids.
I'm disgusted!

I just got the 2003 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses. On page 30, they're described as "All are members of the Worldwide Order of Special Full-Time Servants of Jehovah's Witnesses".
In the 2002 Yearbook also on page 30, they're described as "All are members of the Order of Special Full-Time Servants." Small change there.

JWs Uneducated (Unejamakatud?)

i did a couple of semesters of college work but it really doesnt count.

When I personally think of JW's as uneducated, it is because my peers who grew up in the 70's as Dubs were told that higher education was unnecessary since the world was coming to an end in 1975. Check the following link out:
http://quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com/education.htm
So many of these young Dubs I know did not go to college after high school, and now 20-25 years later have gone from job to job, never been able to hold steady work, never being able to aspire to do interesting and paying work.
