just following on from a thread regarding bill bowens visit next monday to "the ridgeway" see earlier thread, i have contacted (via email) the guardian newspaper with the info from the thread in the hope of coverage by them........no time today, but will contact the times/telegragh tomorrow......plus will try and get london's "evening standard" details.......if anyone wants to chip in with the express/mail/star/sun please let me know or i will just work through them one by one...........oooops i forgot the independant too, have i forgotten anymore?.

i have a short question.. while you were in the truth would have been impressed by the quotes on the quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com page about 1914 and all the other wrong prophecies or would you have simply ignored or denied the accuracy of the quotes?.

would that have caused doubts or would you have found a way to rationalize the obvious lies?.

I probably would have found a way to rationalize all the embarassing information. Afterall, it was my duty to do so since this was the ONLY organization through which I could gain salvation. I look back at myself now and am amazed at how stupid I was.

DID you pass "up' er by the contribution box

this may have been posted b/4, but you are all forgiving, right?.

while we were studying, we were told there was not a collection plate passed around, just a contribution box.

as the years went by it seemed like every other thur.

Although I go to meetings on Sundays only, it's two years I don't put any more contributions for myself and my family. The bastards don't deserve it!

Upcoming Holidays- Celebrating in Secret

with autumn in the air, my thoughts start turning to the holidays ahead.

Although I am still a JW, I will be secretly celebrating my son's 8th birthday this month. I won't even tell my wife I'm doing it, I'll just take the little fellow out and spend an afternoon with him(lunch at McDonald's, park, a Nintendo game etc.) and remind him I'm doing it specifically because its HIS birthday!
