got disfellowshiped at 20 something, reinstated a year later, but was never really accepted before or after , just didn't fit in somehow.
I've heard similar stories - people deliberately hiding from the uglier articles about child abuse or the violent experiences. Makes sense now, I guess.

this question is not to offend anyone, it's just that i have noticed people have many different reasons for leaving the borg and i thought it would be interesting to find out why some of you left.. for example:some leave because they want to be free to smoke, drink, gamble, fornicate, grow beards, celebrate xmas, take blood and drugs, etc.some leave because they never believed and now are old enough to do as they want.some leave because they have seen that they can be happy living life free from any religious organization, yet still feel safe in god's love.some have been hurt by the borg and have taken their wounds away to lick them, waiting to see justice.some have trusted the borg with their lives, time and money...........only to discover recently that there has been lies, cover-ups and hypocracy in the borg.
now they have left but need to belong to another organization to feel happy.. i left the borg because i found out about the cover-ups and lies.
my family was abused by it, my child was sexually abused and i was df'ed.
I left because I found the coochie, and the coochie set me free.
Later, God chose to enlighten me as to the truth, and I have been happy in his real service ever since.

i spoke to my aunt the other day who has been out of the borg for about 20 years now.
she told me that she is really worried about world events and feels that this is it now, the un is going to crumble and then armageddon is going to come.
They ACTUALLY said that the UN would destroy organized religion within one generation of 1914, sparking the beginning of the Great Tribulation.
This has not happened, has not come close to happening, and bluntly will not happen. They've changed the generation thing because it just doesn't hold water. Who knows what else they'll change?

my wife and i resigned from the wtbs last year.

i remember reading somewhere a quote from a wts publication that more or less said that the bible was wrong when it came to one of the regnal years or how many years a certain king had ruled.
something like that anyway(i've got to start copying and pasting or bookmarking or something).
somehow if you take the society at it's word about 607 it creates a problem with the rulership length or starting rulership date of somebody and in one of their publications it actually says something about that time period having to be incorrect.
You'd think a "scholar" would have better spelling.
