Hello Alan. Nice to "see" you again.
I'd have to read their posts before saying anything, but you may well be right.

"4 Outdated References: (5.7%) All reference our time as the "20th Century", interestingly showing how the WTS thought that the end would come before 2000"
This is really interesting!
It reminds me of the book "Nations" ("The Nations Shall Know That You Are Jehovah") where there are 21 or so mentions of "20th Century" or "twentieth century", including the one where the Soc says clearly the "end" will come before the end of the century.

September KM - 70 alterations in Revelation Climax Book
by dozy ini can't find a thread on this subject yet - if there is one , please delete this one.. the september kingdom ministry has a 4 page insert detailing the 70 alterations in the revelation climax book which is due to be studied at the book study shortly.
i'll provide scans if anyone is interested.. i will leave it up to more experienced analysts to examine the reasons for specific changes , but just a few brief observations for now:.
p32 box - "they were completely exonerated" changed to "charges against them were dropped" - interesting change of terminology for the 1918 watchtower eight.

What an interesting thread! Thanks everyone.
Imagine a march of JW/Postate protesters shouting this:
Group 1 says in rapid pace: "WE CHANGED THE TRUTH AND NO ONE SAW"
Group 2, just behind, says: 1984
- We changed the TRUTH and no one saw...
- 1984
- We changed the TRUTH and no one saw...
- 1984

NO BENEFITS TO BLOOD TRANSFUSION...?
by Gill inthe august 2006 awake, makes the claim that there is no benefit to blood transfusion except in trauma, according to proffessor bruce spiess:.
there are few if any (medical) articles that supposrt transfusion actually improving outcome.
" in fact, he writes that many transufusions 'may do more harm than good in virtually every instance except trauma,' increasing 'the risk of pneumonia, infections, heart attacks and strokes.'.

"The blood medical treatment doctrine as taught by the Watch Tower Corporation simply only applies to the Faithful Slave Class. The Society says the New Covenant only applies to the Faithful Slave Class because they are the "Spiritual Jews". The blood doctrine CAN'T apply to the "other sheep" because the Governing Body says they are the "spiritual Gentiles". "
Gary,
that reasoning with a couple of obscure scriptures tossed in is all that is needed to drop the ban on transfusions. What you think?

I noticed two interesting statements in the article that I had never seen before:
"Those who receive blood from another person face risks essentially similar to those undergoing an organ transplant. Immnune responses tend to reject foreign tissue."
Great! So, a blood transfusion being similar to an organ transplant makes it acceptable as a "conscience matter" now, as is an organ transplant?
"No wonder Brian McClelland, director of Edinburgh and Scotland Blood Transfusion Service, asks doctors to "remember that a transfusion is a transplant...". "
Ohh, nice! So, if transfusion is a transplant, and transplant is a "conscience matter", then a transfusion should equally be a "conscience matter", right?
Also, I don't remember having them say that blood is a tissue.
That's it. My vote for the Big Announcement is a drop in the blood trnsfusion ban as a disfellowshipping ofense.

Could the "shocking" announcement be about blood issue?
by WingCommander ini've been reading the random threads lately about the "shocking" announcement that is to be made at the end of september, and i'd like to throw my 2 pence in.
now, we all know that the wtbs has made several failed predictions, and i think we can all agree that they have probably learned their lesson from 1975's fiasco.
most at bethel are old enough to remember the fallout for years after 1975. so to me, i think it's safe to say that they aren't going to be claiming the end is this year.

I think they'll simply say that there are ONLY 3 months for the end of...
And JWs will get all fired up thinking that the Big A could come this year, but the Society simply couldn't say it.

Just because we fooled you shouldn't stop you from fooling your kids!
by slimboyfat inparents are naturally concerned that their children not make the same mistakes they did.
the society seem to be worried about the power of this impulse to protect one's children.
page 161 of the new book live with jehovah's day in mind reads:a dampening of our expectation of jehovah's great day could reveal itself in the advice we give to our children or to others.

That's a good point, slimboyfat.
Anyway you could scan the book's cover? (I want to show it to my mom and spoil WT's surprise)
