hey!
shotguns post got me thinking.

I am absolutely DUMBFOUNDED!!!! This makes the Watchtower and Awake! look like top-notch publications... Even the Society acknowledged the past existence of Neanderthals, saying that they didn't look much different than modern-day humans (I think they said you could sit beside one on a bus and not be able to tell????). These comics are aimed at kids. Fear, ignorance, blind-faith... sick.
this popped up on my google news alert:.
posted on tuesday, april 20 @ 09:22:27 the culting of christianity.
not long ago, religious cults were dismissed by many americans as being the stuff of aging california hippies or eccentric gurus from the far east.. .
Have you ever thought maybe it's not to manipulate people......but because someone CARES where YOU are going to spend eternity after you die?
Sounds like the same reasoning for shunning....
My family isn't trying to manipulate me ... but because someone CARES where YOU are going to spend eternity (as bird feed at the big A or happily, on a paradise earth)
BLAHHHHHH This type of "christian" logic is what makes "New Age" so appealing - at least we're all gods
an older lady (referred to as sister x) who does outside sales for us is a jw pioneer.
last week her non-jw husband of almost 50 years passed away.
sister x has been a baptised jw for over 30 years but no one else in her family accepted these beliefs including her husband.
It could have been worse - she could have had it at the Kingdom Hall!
Seriously, he should have laid out his funeral plans, otherwise its up to her. She picked (as was said before) a "religiously neutral place". I wouldn't have had a problem with it.

Shotgun... I agree it sounds funny, BUT water can also be in solid form (ice) or gas (clouds)... perhaps he was getting too technical ?????
i`m not sure if any on this board has seen the show " crossing-over with john edwards" but for some strange reason the show fascinates me.
if you have not seen the show its basically a guy who does readings for people in a studio audience who have had loved ones die, 'crossing-over' to the next realm.
he then connects with these dead people offering up clues to their passing and only personal things that close family would know about .
Mulan, we've talked about Sylvia Browne before. She's the only psychic that has tempted me to save up the money for a reading from her!
So far, I haven't - but I'm tempted.
how many have heard this or used this as a break-up line?.
is it a cop-out, or the truth?.
any funny stories to tell?.
Been on both sides of the fence - and neither are easy.
There's alot of mention of "nice guys finish last", or women only want a "bad boy". I've dated "nice" guys who in the end are only insecure. They need constant reassurance. This is a MAJOR TURN OFF. "Bad boys" tend to come off as secure, but often they are selfish.
So, trying to find a guy with balance is the "tricky" part. Someone who is confident, not insecure, not self-centered but loves himself.
Here's a question... doing the breakup - in person, over the phone or in writing????
i have a hard time coping with it, seeing as i have an anxiety disorder.
how do you not think of things like work, relationships, money, getting a cat, etc.
without freaking out?
Funny - I've been "stressed" the last few days. My stomach is upset, can't eat as much as usual, somewhat sad. I know its anxiety. I had it before.
I've had this feeling when I'm making a "decision" in my life and I'm unsure of the outcome. Last year, it was deciding to move to the city to take advantage of a career opportunity. It turned out for the best. Right now, I'm in transition. My feelings for my b/f have changed and I realize he's not "the one" for me, but next week we're flying to Maui for 10 days. Part of this is giving me stress and anxiety, because we'll have fun, he's a great guy (but not for me ).

Waygooder - I've seen his show, and I like it
I battle within myself at times with the "scientific" and this world's mysteries. I love science (although I admit, I don't understand it all), but still find UFOs, psychics, NDE fascinating.
I guess the way I feel about it, is if there is "nothing", what can it hurt? I personally have a tough time with the idea that death may be the end of it. When it happens, and "that's it", then I guess I won't care BUT while I'm alive, I can watch/read the possibilities of "more" than this life, if I wish.
I feel that we are connected to an energy source, "life".
wow!
thanks for all of your replies to my last topic!
since it was so popular i thought we could use another one.
I was told AC/DC was "Anti-Christ/Devil's Child"
