five events to come and to watch for:.
1 world leaders say peace and security!
- they "say" this but may not fully "achieve" this.
Waiting4TheKingdom: ME? Living my life

Don't you need to get a life first in order to live it???

In the broader scheme of things, WT/JWs are a fart in a hurricane.
The hubris of believing that all the world knows about and stands in rapt attention over the doings of JWs is truly astounding.
"Soon" = don't hold your breath.

"GENERALLY, true Christians do not have to make sworn oaths. This is because they obey Jesus, who said: "Just let your word Yes mean Yes." He meant that a person should keep his word." (W 10/15/12, p.27)
.
Typical WT....sounds good in print but has no application in the real world as far as JWs are concerned.

Sure, WT would like to think that only a written contract has any weight in this situation, but they also conveniently forget Jesus' simple statement, "Let your yes mean yes".
many of my church leaders have inisisted that short hair for men is a strict scriptural doctrine, and not to be argued against.
what do people think?.
a young guy was deported form Saudi Arabia simply because the religious police thought he was too good-looking
.
I confess...it was me that got deported. It's not the first country I've been deported from for this reason.
Please don't hate me because I'm beautiful.
Vidiot, thanks for telling my story...I love you, man.

@ Alpha Man: The gall of this family to complain to the authorities. They should feel priviledged to have a view of the center of true worship in the community right outside their back window.

LOL.
It's not so much the blockage of his view that most disturbs him; it's the 24 hour glow from the giant halo over the build site that keeps him awake at night!
.
xstuck: pretty stupid if you ask me. if the view means that much they should have bought property where this wasn't a possibility.
Really?? Are you a JW?
Actually, any building on the site did not present problems with blocking his view IF the JWs had held to their agreement with him. Besides, HE was there first, not the KH. The neighbor is not being unreasonable. A workable option was in place that would've preserved his view and allowed the JWs to build the KH.

Remember: JWs, being "the most loving people on earth", are also the same group that get annual reminders about proper Regional Convention decorum- like not stampeding your brothers in a mad-dash to get the best seats when the doors open at 8 am.

Ask them to show you the scripture that specifies the exact length.
They won't be able to do it.
Now point out that, since the scriptures do not say, any opinion is human opinion....and, therefore, cannot be made into a law.
As Quandry said, "a man should not dress or look like a woman". This was the whole reason for the scriptural mention of long hair on a man---if he was doing it to pass himself off as a woman, that is what the "sin" was. It wasn't a general prohibition against a man's hair-length being long.
