But, ask yourself: if you were a Catholic in the 1920's and you walked out of your church to be met by JWs (IBSA) picketing with signs that said "Religion Is A Snare and A Racket", would it have changed your mind? Most likely not. Yet, JWs did it anyway....and demanded everyone allow them their "right" to do so.

The actual effectiveness of the protest has little to do with a person's legal right to do it.

The hypocrisy of the JW stance on this subject is incredible considering their history.

How many times does a "Noah's Ark" "discovery" have to be debunked as a hoax before people become less gullible to this nonsense?

Noah's Ark has allegedly been 'discovered', not by satellite images, but up close and personal, a dozen times, yet not one person thought it was a good idea to bring back any evidence.

Any alleged photos have also been debunked as fake...everytime.

To those that swallow these stories whenever they surface: "there's one born every minute"

JWs used to target churches, stand outside and wait for services to dismiss, and protest with signs that read "Religion Is A Snare and A Racket".

I didn't see this man doing any that. He was just walking around quietly with a video camera. Incidentally, this occured during a lunch break, not during "church services".

Even if he was holding provocative signs and shouting, my initial thought is: what goes around comes around. WT did worse than this for years- they should be more tolerant when others take advantage of the civil rights and "religious freedoms" WT brags it has gained for everyone through the courts (in reality, we know those 'freedoms' were only for WT's advantage- they don't now, nor ever have, given a flying f**k about a non-JWs religious freedoms).

JWs used to be (and in some ways still are) the most in-your-face, invade-other-people's-privacy, 'take the fight to the people' religions that exists. It's astonishing how intolerant JWs are when others do anything similar to what they do.

WT admitted "Jehovah" is not God's name...

if i remember right(unlikely, lol) it was a one-page article about the tetragrammaton which concluded by saying that even though "jehovah" was 'probably' not an accurate pronunciation, it is a widely-recognized and accepted english transliteration of the divine name.

i was thinking it was on the last page or maybe the back cover of a wt pub - maybe a watchtower.. can someone please direct me to the publication it was in?

i read it when i was still 'in' and it made me stop and think about how much emphasis the wt puts on that name, all while knowing it's not the name.

I guess Christians were just S.O.L. until Rutherfraud came along...not even Jesus could do anything for them....

If the JW argues there weren't any true Christians for those 2,000 years then I guess Jesus' sacrifice was the biggest epic fail of all time. Ah, the absurdity of being JW...

looks like there is a "hospitality committee" that has been desgnated to "sell" the convention city for each place an international convention is being held.. other posts on this site have displayed the websites for detroit & atlanta, this one is for new orleans.. .

Uh huh. Up until the last convention I went to three yars ago, WT was still telling JWs to focus solely on the program, don't stay out late after the sessions, don't go out with friends for more than just a quick dinner, etc.

Now conventions are nothing more than "party like it's 1999".

Slightly more than 35,000 JWs attended.

So why does the photo on the website show a stadium at 100% capacity??

two weeks ago we run an article about the abuse case in moston manchester congregation .it would seem that the coverage from the main local newspaper manchester evening news and two national newspapers has alarmed the charity commission the official regulator for charities in england and wales and now for the first time !

they opened an official investigation on both charities ,the local one ,moston congragation and the central one jehovah's witnesses of britain indicating that in their eyes these two are connected and liable for any misconduct .this is the time for a concentrated campaign from all of us to inform the charity commission why the watchtower should not be a called a charity .the article above has a link for the charity commission complaint page .follow it!.

Yup, just like when they pulled a fast one on the Bulgarian Govt. over the blood issue.

Bulgaria refused to grant WT legal status as long as they continued to disfellowship people for accepting a blood transfusion. So, WT agreed to discontinue doing that. However, their new rule became any Bulgarian JW who accepts a blood transfusion is considered automatically disassociated- which accomplished the exact same thing as disfellowshipping:shunning. WT got their legal status, lied to the govt. to get it, and retains a shunning policy like always.

To suggest the convention attendees drive all that way around Atlanta on 285 to the "official" Marta station is absurd when the red line is TWO MILES away!

Jehovah will kill anyone at Armageddon who doesn't use the 'assigned' MARTA station- these things are very important to god.
