  i am a member of the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints, and i have written a heavily-documented response to the official magazine of the jehovah's witnesses, awake!, that claims to teach what we believe.

  i saw an article from last year's watchtower about a guy who had barely been mormon for very long, and obviously did not know what we believe, who was given this magazine by jw's to show him "the truth.

  " he claims to have proven to himself that it was true from information on the lds church's website.

  Memorial to cease?

  i heard something about the memorial to cease soon.

  not anything to do with jesus returning but rather that the number of folks partaking is increasing and the gb can't explain it since it should be decreasing or staying the same.. has anyone heard of this?

  There is a post where it was mentioned that a CO said it could be the last memorial because the end is so close. There are ones who are claiming the end is so close and they are aluding to it happening this year.

  .

  Oh sure, Armageddon is imminent...that explains WT selling all their Brooklyn real estate, starting a five year long new headquarters project in Warwick, and making a run at every congregation's savings accounts....

  The Memorial isn't ending; it's the WT's (unleavened) bread and butter since it's their only sanctioned 'holiday' of the year.

  two weeks ago we run an article about the abuse case in moston manchester congregation .it would seem that the coverage from the main local newspaper manchester evening news and two national newspapers has alarmed the charity commission the official regulator for charities in england and wales and now for the first time !

  they opened an official investigation on both charities ,the local one ,moston congragation and the central one jehovah's witnesses of britain indicating that in their eyes these two are connected and liable for any misconduct .this is the time for a concentrated campaign from all of us to inform the charity commission why the watchtower should not be a called a charity .the article above has a link for the charity commission complaint page .follow it!.

  I agree with that statement.

  So how do you get around the fact that, just like WT, the Mormons don't have these "gifts" either?

  Or, is your lack simply superior to the WT's lack?

  Very interesting. Of course, a rule-following JW could not do this, as any blood removed from the body must be immediately disposed of.

  I'm sure it won't take long before WT publishes some strong opinion about this procedure should it become more common.

  ADCMS: You would be wise to follow the example of the faithful slave and not worry or care about receiving credit for your words.

  Recently I have become a member of the GB 2.0, The Faithful Slave™ (all others claiming to be "anointed" are only "domestics" and probably emotionally/mentally unbalanced, so they don't matter), therefore, I'm better than everyone else and everything I say is worth listening to...as it comes directly from god. What may appear to be self-aggrandizing hubris is nothing more than reverance that is due a "glorious one", such as moi.

  Seriously- yes, of course the WT demands to be recognized as a charity while simultaneously condemning all other religions for being charitable. Of course, all other religions run actual charities; you know, where they receive donations then provide food, clothing, medical care and other social services with that money.

  WT's version of a charity is: give us (WT) your money (that's it...that's as far as it goes, in case you were waiting for something additional).
