  RESEARCH REQUEST: Need text of a Watchtower article from June 1st, 1998

  i'm doing some research for a biography and need some help tracking down a watchtower article.. the article i need is from the life stories of jehovahs witnesses series:.

  josefsson, eva: w98 6/1 28-31i believe the article is tiltled, "sustained through terrible trials," but i am not certain.. i would prefer a scan of a hard copy of the original article, but a cut and paste from a wt cd would be better than nothing.

  both would be golden.. as you all no doubt know, the jw.org "archives" only go back to 2000 (did someone just say "orwell"?)..

  an aging family member the other day related this gleefully who btw claims to have his prayers answered for the most mundane things...like a ride to the recent regional convention just because he asked almighty jah for it...anywhoo.... he related that a national satellite provider wanted to charge him an early termination fee for cancelling his service..... ..well he gets on the phone and tells them he is an "old coot" who is homeless and going into an old folks home...so what do they do?.

  write off the fee for.the "old coot" jw who has no trouble lying thru his teeth just to get out of a fee he agreed to pay because no doubt he knows jah would be pissed if he didnt let his yes mean yes and his no..no.... real story?

  he just sold his home and is sitting on the proceeds from the sale...... so many jws actions i have seen thru the years scream they have no belief in god....well the angry delusional wt god they claim to give their devotion to.....

  i overheard this argument re the new tract campaign.

  one elder told a publisher, to hide the tract in the mailbox if the home owner wasn't home.

  the publisher was used to folding the tip of the tract, and just left a tip showing.

  I thought JWs were supposed to follow the law of the land, unless it conflicts with God's law.

  Wrong. JWs follow the law of the land only when it's personally convenient to do so or until it conflicts with Watchtower law. Then a JWs obedience to "Caesar" goes right out the window.

  Obedience to secular authority is another WT concept that looks good on paper but has no real-world application in JW Land.

  I remember getting a lecture about handing out invitations to a "get together" at the hall

  You can say "party" now. Apparently WT now approves of that term since it was plastered on the KH wall in big, bold letters. When I was growing up in WT using the word "party" for any JW gathering was strictly verboten, as it was a "worldly" term.

  Ironically, it wasn't that long ago WT was also saying the same thing about black people. Listen up, Sam Herd:

  "The white rulers of Britain have superior mental and moral abilities. Blacks however, are gaining ground." - Golden Age May 5, 1926, p. 483.
