Your views and ideas on forum areas and organization?

this may come as a shock to some people, but the current forum structure was kind of thrown together without much real thought and then evolved a bit over time.

there are a few things that particularly grate on me and areas where i don't think the subjects work particularly well.

'friends' is a bit vague and becomes a dumping ground, news & world events vs politics & current affairs is hard to decide sometimes, child abuse is a scandal but isn't contained withing 'scandals & coverups' etc.... with a new forum platform imminent, it's a good time to solicit ideas to improve things.

It must be hell having to go through life knowing not everyone agrees with your beliefs and opinions. Even among those who may agree with you, none will agree with 100%. It's a sad fact of life: not everyone is you.

I'm sure your hoped-for solution would be simply to nuke humanity into non-existence so the only survivor would be...you. Just you and your own thoughts...what a lovely world that would be. Oh, and of course, the cockroaches. I hear tell they can survive a nuclear holocaust. But I'm sure before long they too would mourn the fact that they survived the apocolypse, as now they are subject to your tireless rants with no way out...not even death.

Maybe Simon should just change the name of his website to Paris/VG.net. That way you could post every comment yourself, then congratulate yourself on how much smarter you are than the the rest of us. And, of course, you would not need to face the insufferable fact that people have views that differ from yours. The horror of it !

Sammie claims a person cannot fire a gun without killing another person, because guns only have one use: killing.

Funny, I've been shooting guns my entire life and have never killed anything. I've never hunted, never even shot at a living thing- I have no desire to. I have no desire to kill a human being either.

I guess the next argument I'll hear is that paper targets and blocks of wood actually do die when shot with a gun, so in that case I am a fanatical murderer....just like ISIS.

In sammies world, if you go out with a .22 today and shoot at a paper target, it's only a matter of time before you're killing people by gunshot or beheading. At least, that's how aliens would probably see it.

It's always amazing to watch how people struggle to think outside the box.

We're not struggling, sammie. We just are not interested in fantastical musings based on child-like fantasy.

If, in support of an argument I was making, I said, "what would Ice Giants think if they saw Wookies eating Pterodactyl steaks in the same restaurant as Smurfs? Would they think Americans are socially backwards?"

Where does a rational adult even go with that scenario? It's absurd. Yet, you are using the same argument to bolster your viewpoint...then stand befuddled when we call you on it. And, try being honest: you were using that example to promote your personal agenda.
