my mom explained it to me this way, its not in the bible.
Neither is JW.Org, so JWs shouldn't have a website either.
(isn't childish linear thinking great?)
this was inspired by terry's thread.... it is something that raises many questions about the jw belief system.. .
for one thing - the bible certainly explains all the details of the christ birth.
it certainly does not tell people to avoid celebrating it with feasts, customs, etc.

okay, so i've been seeing the occasional comment here and there on the forum that some jws, even elders, do not seem to have heard about the society ever being an ngo.
am i not remembering accurately?
back when this scandal happened (2001?
As Island Man pointed out, whether or not a letter was read to the cong. in general was wholly dependent on if this became an issue in the cong. If a cong. didn't know about it, and the BOE didn't write to Brooklyn asking questions, WT wasn't volunteering anything.

CT Russell had no problem with IBSA members celebrating Christmas. While acknowledging that Dec. 25th was not an accurate date, CTR saw no reason why a Christian could not celebrate Christmas in good conscience.
On the other hand, Rutherfraud tirelessly looked for/invented ways to make JWs different than all other Christian denominations, so Christmas got trashed along with just about everything else.
i have been juicing off and on for a couple of years ever since i saw a the documentary, sick, fat, and nearly dead, and my health has taken a remarkable upswing.
no doubt in my mind that drinking live celled water rich green veggie juice is one of the best things you can do for your health and longevity.
time is sometimes a thing, and don't always have the time and patience to juice the veggies and clean up the juicer parts.
I've been juicing for seven years. Technically, it's not "juicing"- I use a commercial-grade VitaMix, so I get all the fiber along with the juice.
Started as a result of a big health scare and have been doing it everyday since then. It was intrumental in my turnaround and helps to maintain my health now.
i mean its says right in there not to pray in public, or babble on, how many 10 minuet long babbling prayers have you endured ??.
where in the bible does it tell us anyone prayed for a large group of people publicly, or even in front of the family at their homes?.
it says in vs 14 to be forgiving, how can disfellowshipping someone be forgiving?
Read and absorb??
Foreign concepts (and essentially useless) to a JW.

My understanding is the WT did respond only to BOEs and only if that BOE initiated the query to WT headquarters. No letter has ever been read to the cong. in general that I have heard of firsthand. WT never freely volunteered information about the NGO scandal, as that would be close to transparency for WT's tastes.
And, predictably, the few BOE's that did enquire about it and received a letter from WT, the explanation/answer/B.S. was completely dishonest. In other words, A BIG FAT LIE !
( I know this because I talked with an elder who's BOE did receive a letter...and the "explanation" WT gave was pure, unadulterated bovine residue).
BTW- I doubt 99.9% of JWs have a clue about this issue. WT is very good at hiding the truth...and JWs are very good at voluntary ignorance.
just an idea for the weekly g.b.
conclave to consider - unless it's too christian for them to think about!.
paul wrote this to the "israel of god" - galatians 6:2 " go on carrying the burdens of one another, and in this way you will fulfill the law of the christ.".
As "Morpheus" alluded to, Ray Franz, in CoC, made the comment that the most important aspects of being a Christian (i.e. charity, taking care of orphans and widows, etc.) cannot be counted on a Field Service time slip; and WT has absolutely no interest in those things.
A JW man can be a good father, loving husband, and show tremendous love by way of charitable works toward his fellow JWs...but if he is a "low hour" publisher the elders will view him as substandard, weak- useless to the Org.
However, if some JW douchbag (read: elder or elder wannabe) is a complete dick but gets 15 hours a month in f.s., he's viewed as an "exemplary" JW and a man (using the term loosely) worth emulating and moving up the coroporate ladder via more "privileges" and meaningless titles.
As usual, WTs priorities are completely backwards.
it sucked!!.
so what's going on in the borg!?
what have you missed??
We had a DEFICIT of $4,000 at lunch....
Isn't it amazing how there's always a deficit BEFORE they even know how much has been collected thus far and BEFORE the assembly is even partway through the first day.
...the Circuit had $25,000 on hand with the Branch
So...not really a deficit.
We must not follow evil ways. Any religious ideas that are published by men should be rejected....
Seems to me WT is greenlighting the idea that it's okay to NOT follow WT.
great stuff.. .
overwhelming credentials.
25 does the faithful and discreet slave class have any more credentials?
Ironically, none of what's explained in the "credentials" list above is relevant today since the WT redefined who the F&DS is in 2013.
The ever-changing "new light" eviscerates and nullifies yet another long-held WT doctrine.
the latest blast of "jehovah's trumpet" warns us about the irrational nature of common superstitions.... the article then goes on to provide counsel on the dangers of the domonic attacks that often result from unwisely purchasing second-hand objects.
the risk is demonstrated by recounting the real-life story of poor sister lemming and her new ministry bag.. genius satire as always!
please take some time to read the community comments.. .
Too funny.
Thanks for posting this, cofty.
