in july, there will be another jehovah's witnesses gathering in detroit, also expected to draw 45,000.. the theme is keep seeking first god's kingdom, a belief that eventually god's kingdom of peace will come to earth.

Sadly, the same freedoms WT defends for its corporate interests are denied to a person once they actually become one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

The BIG question here is: why are these numbers not 100% ???

Heads Up: If you are an older JW, WT has no further use for you!

wt is retiring district overseers, has sent older jws serving at bethel packing despite years of faithful service, and as of june 1, 2014, has announced that any elder that has reached 80 years of age is no longer valued or wanted as a cobe.

in wt land it would appear that older people have little or no value, and wt sees no reason to use them in any meaningful capacity.

i wonder how this makes older ones feel after devoting their lives to wt's interests while shelving their own hopes and dreams?.

I once read that a great manager or business owner will never require an employee to do something the mgr/owner isn't willing to do. I wonder if the GB will be great 'managers' and retire themselves at 80? *

their website provides snippets on progress in a section called fast facts-worldwide...but for all the pizzaz, it's outdated.

they give the worldwide memorial attendance for last year (19,241,252) - which was less than in 2011, but do not tell us the current year's worldwide attendance - even though it was almost 2 months ago.

doesn't that make the snippets slow facts-worldwide?

Obviously many JWs don't understand that International Conventions are an exclusive JW club. They think they can just show up and be warmly accepted like they would be at any other convention. After asking JWBrothers for info. on dates and travel info., here are some funny comments from the website administrators:

"Hi! Just a bit of info: For all of you asking about when a certain convention is, where to stay, etc. you must realize you are not to attend any convention without an invitation. You must apply through your local congregation, and wait for a reply. This is so all things will be ‘by arrangement’ as the scriptures mention. It also keeps the crowd to the proper size for each convention, so your brothers and sisters are not overcrowded. Please be obedient, and do not go to ANY convention without an invitation! Remember, he who is obedient in little things, will be obedient in bigger things!"

"100,000 brothers and sisters will be visiting the Australia International Assembly (Melbourne) and 3 other conventions in Adelaide, Perth and Townsville along with 4 (TBA) in NZ simultaneously. I cant say what the dates will be but it was read out at our local meeting that NO FAMILIES OR FRIENDS were to attend if they were NOT invited. There will be a delegation of 4,000 overseas witnesses who would have had to go through the process of being approved by their local congregation elders, the branch (who have the final say)who goes to Melbourne. I guess its a bit like Jehovah giving final instructions how we follow the directions of the appointed body it counts in his eyes how we listen to his telling us where to go and when not to. Obedience from the heart is what he wants now from us makes things move smoother for the brothers and us."

No, it means that most JWs are not welcome at these conventions. Welcome to the New Earth Society, brother!

Exactly. It wouldn't matter if the area was saturated with restaurants...JWs will be eating bologne and about-to-go-bad potato salad out of their picinic cooler. Jehovah™ considers it a grave sin to go out and eat during assemblies. The rest of the year he's more tolerant.
