A question for Athiests.
by new hope and happiness ini am now an athiest myself, but i think being an athiest its a bit like having a faith.
some get very hooked on it and "preash" others (like me) simply get with with there lifes.
i am sure that some athiests like to have discussions about the non existence of " god" in a similar way that "thisists" do about the existence of god.

If you take it a step further - these kids are being forced to watch killings which one assumes is to desensitize them emotionally and mentally - no doubt as we recoil in horror at those actions - how many people let their kids sit in front of zombie shows where decapitation happens twenty times an hour? or watch slasher films? or sit in front of video games hour after hour where the intent of winning is the highest number of people you can kill - kids starting at 6 or 7 years old.
Then I guess there's only one solution: legally ban all movies, video games, comic books, etc. that show any type of violence. Hell, while we're at it, let's just outlaw all movies, video games and comic books-period. Because as we all know, morality can be legislated, and it's always best to allow other people to make the really important decisions in life for you.
Overarching, emotional, knee jerk, paint-everyone-with-the-widest-brush-possible arguments always result in the best outcome.
bohm: yes there is, the girl was instructed to shoot at a non-human target and quite frankly I can't believe you can miss that distinction.
Obviously the argument implies all adult who shoot guns for fun are similar to adult isis militants executing civilians.
Well said.

"So why do some athiests want to convert?" -
Wait!!, What!!
How exactly atheists do that?
Well, atheists go door-to-door, talk to you about atheist's beliefs, use the atheist Bible to support the rightness of their beliefs, give you atheist literature, then persuade you to attend a local atheist church. Obviously.

new hope-
not to be pedantic, but if you are going to be an "athiest" you should know how to spell "atheist".
If you are going to subscibe to the beliefs of "buddism" you should know how to spell "Buddhism".

Brett King (Jehovah's Witness) Releases Video of why he removed his ill son, Ashya, from a UK hospital

The irony is these JW parents removed their son from the hospital because they felt the doctors were endangering his life and health.
Yet, at the same time, they have no problem endangering his life by following WT's mandate to refuse a blood transfusion.
It seems they don't care so much how their son dies*, but only about who's hand he dies by.
Typical JW thinking.
.
* obviously, they want their son to live, but will allow his death if WT demands it through adherence to their "no blood" policies.

IT'S TRUE!!! SETTING THEOCRATIC GOALS LEADS TO HAPPINESS!!
by DATA-DOG inaugust 31, 2014, the end of the greatest month of preaching in human history!!
with much hard work and planning, and with jeehoober's blessing, i was able to reach my goal!!
i skipped the entire "uber-special campaign" of advertising jw.org for the governing popes!!

You could not have accomplished any of this without the blessing of the god of JW.Org !
With further blessings from the marvelous, Almighty Internet deity, hopefully next year you'll accomplish even less
If you set your goals low enough, and pray intensely about it, anything is possible.

The Great Crowd Catch 22
by Perry injust had a two hour conversation with my father.
he is insistent that he will be able to enter the kingdom of god as a member of the 'great crowd'.
he did agree that only the annointed are declared righteous.

Perry: I know this. My heart has been so heavy, I finally wept to let some of the pain out. The Enemy is ruthless.
Such is the nature of religion. Foisting guilt and anguish on people over nothing more than fictions. Truly sad.
The Enemy is ruthless.
"Gullibility kills". -- Carl Sagan
There is no "enemy", Perry, except ignorance and devotion to the superstitions of ancient goatherders.
You are just as much a deluded slave as your father, you just don't realize it.

This is nothing more than the typical nonsensical tactics of WT. It becomes more absurd at conventions for some reason.
At the last two conventions I attended (at a WT Assembly Hall) there were huge sections of seats cordoned off with yellow tape. Roughly 25% of the available seats in the auditorium. I asked the attendant why they were roped off (because it's an area I normally sit in)? His answer: "I don't know, they just told me to guard the area and make sure no one sits here". An inquiry to the Convention Overseer got the same answer: even he didn't know why the seats were blocked off.
So, the seats remained blocked off and unused for the entire convention and we sat crammed like sardines into whatever seats were left over.
I think it has to do more with WT control than anything else. They do something that makes no sense, create an air of a big mystery as to why this or that is being done, and make it look official by placing guards to enforce the situation. It creates the mindset that WT/ the GB/ whoever must know something the rest of us don't, and who are we to question their 'wisdom'? There must be a good reason-after all, god told them to do it, right?
I suspect it often is nothing more than an experiment: how absurd can we (WT) be and the rank-and-file will still go along with it unquestioningly? Just how much can we get away with?

"Politicians The Watchtower usually promise a moon and not deliver to their promises, this is disappointing to the voters Publishers who have high expectations," he said.
Mr Mashilipa said believers needed to seek God's Kingdom which he said never fails, unlike human governance.
Of course, he doesn't mention god's govt. hasn't done a damn thing for the first 100 years it has existed (or 140 years if you go by CT Russell/GB 1.0 numbers). At least the government in Zambia provides basic services to its people.
