  Just saw the new JW.org sign on the local KH sign

  i work about a block from the local kh and i notice there was no jw.org sign on it.

  i said to my wife are they not following the cults rules on this.

  will just yesterday as i was driving home from work there it was on the corner of the kh sign jw.org it was about 1 foot x 1 foot in size.

  I wouldn't be suprised if WT soon jettisons the moniker "Jehovah's Witnesses" and simply calls its followers "Worgies".

  after a thorough investigation and weighing of the evidence the grand jury has decided not to indict the officer.. the reaction so far seems as predicted - people refuse to accept that the result represents justice despite claims that is what they wanted.. there is now violence and vandalism, including gunshots.

  let's hope the police contain the troublemakers.. .

  Without he or she being aware of it, Ruby456 is actually a racist. Whenever you have a prejudiced opinion that some group of people have no ability to better themselves, for whatever reason, in comparison to other groups, it works on the assumption they do not have the intelligence, will, or natural ability to do so. In other words, they are inferior.

  And for god's sake, quit repeating the idiotic mantra, "you are using a narrative developed by a group of people who were born into a priviliged background anyway".

  I guess Ruby ignorantly assumes every White person is born rich. It's a default argument for a person who has nothing of substance to contribute to the discussion.

  anyway, i stopped and chatted with the people for a bit.

  CrazyGuy: It would of been great if you said something to the effect that you're thinking of coming back if only someone could show you the scripture where jesus is said to do an inspection and after 4 years pick only one christian religion as is only mouthpiece.

  This is a great question, but unfortunately, way over the heads of most JWs. They don't know enough about their own (WT's) theology to understand what you are talking about.

  I think here on JWN, we ex-JWs often forget we know more about JW beliefs and history than JWs do...way more.

  A day in the life of a Cop...my story. The truth.

  i work for a mental health unit with 2 police officers we deal with people who have drug and mental health issues.

  at times over the last 10 years we have "taken down" some large drug affected men, mainly "ice" these days which is epidemic here, and let me tell you even with three of us it is a huge struggle.

  sometimes back up is needed or mace spray which is aweful stuff!

  Sadly, when a gun is made available to a cop, they are naturally going to use it, because it would be foolish not to defend themselves from someone who may want to kill them

  Law enforcement officers carry Tasers, pepper spray and batons/tonfas.

  To automatically conclude the first thing they use is their firearm is disrespectful to them, IMO.

  If their only interest is in using deadly force with a firearm 100% of the time then they wouldn't be carrying the other equipment, would they?

  Please tell us, talesin: as a white, middle class Canadian female, what exactly is it like to live as a poor, Black, American male?

  And by your comments you reveal that you are a racist. Or is it that you disapprove only of majority against minority racism but have no problem with reverse racism?

  Your way of dodging any meaningful dialogue is fascinating: whenever someone says something you don't want to address(or can't) intellectually, your default attack is to label that person a privileged middle-class white person.

  My question to you is: how do you know you're not blasting a successful, self-made Black person who simply sees through your bulls**t rhetoric?

  Successful family, property, etc. all serve as safety nets that allow someone to take more chances. Without these, there's a huge difference.

  Then how do you explain the people (including Whites) who have all the advantages in life and end up losers and failures?

  Your arguments are the default of someone looking to make excuses. There's no doubt that what happens in a person's life has an effect, but your arguments are dismally hopeless and depressing and ignore the indomitable will of the human spirit who've proven your hypotheses wrong millions of times.

  Shirley, I did not insult your intelligence, I asked why you had a blind spot to the butterfly effect in this case

  That's twice and I don't appreciate it. You are quoting stats with no source reference about decades-old data while completely ignoring the present:2014.

  Ruby, you are obtuse. The whole point of this story is social structures are irrelevant as are the actual events that occur in a person's life. The determininigfactor are the choices they make. A person can make choices that help them rise above so-called limitations or let it sink them. I'm not going to entertain your empty queries and carry water for you. Google it.

  there are two things that just drive me crazy.

  one is that the art work in the watchtower is treated like they are actual still photo's taken thousands of years ago.

  your will hear comments about look at the smiles on their faces or the sadnees or happiness in their eyes, or notice the reaction of the crowd, etc.

  NY44M: The part I hated was that we still had to go to the Thursday night meeting.

  At least the high dose of Tryptophan in the turkey would ensure being able to sleep soundly through said meeting.
