  You have a very smart kid! So the israelites are the true narcissists.
  I guess any 'God' is just a reflection of that culture. I wonder why Yahweh was the one that survived down to this day?

  as we know, jws are constantly under pressure to conform more and more to wt expectations.. i was just thinking about a sister i used to know who always came across as the perfect jw portrayed in the literature: she never missed a meeting.

  she pioneered.

  she always had a look of contentment.

  That is my best friend to a T!! Until you get her in a relaxed one on one environment and the walls come down. She described God of the bible as an abusive boyfriend which got me thinking....and here I am now on jwn haha. We have the most amazing discussions now. She's my lifeline in the jw sea of delusion.

  No one would ever guess she would say/believe such things. sometimes these people are just good actors! And havent we all been conditioned to be actors? 1.2.3....Kingdom smile everyone, we are Jehovahs happy people!

  I would go as far as to say the God of the OT is verging on psychopathic, rationalizing the killing of thousands of people because they got in your way.

  And the whole "Love me or I'll kill you". Ultimate psychopathic abuser.

  Thank you everyone for your practical advice, I have came at my husband with a few TTATT things but the brick wall comes up and he goes on the major defensive. TheListener you are so right about the pendulum!! He can go from completely inactive to all of a sudden the dub nazi. Just gotta keep those little minds thinking I guess so they can see through the BS.

  Hopefully by the time they start asking questions I will feel a bit more comfortable with what I believe in. Right now I feel like I havent got the skills to think for myself or create my own belief system, I just can't believe in anything at this moment.

  On a postitve.....It's AMAZING to be mentally free!!!!

  Hi Punk, I love reading your posts. Its more my family I want to keep. My husband and I have a huge extended family which I love my kids to be apart of. Luckily they are both only babies so I have time for now.

  p.s. My husband is very irregular but still believes its 'da troof'. Im so grateful i didnt marry a strong jw but still have to contend with his beliefs.

  I completely agree with you there Deus. And that is definitely my plan. I feel so emotionally stunted as a born in, dont want that for my kids.

  Just dreading those big questions, how to answer them without telling them what to believe. Anyone else out there in a similar situation?

  Hello everyone, newbie here.

  Well I'm a born in 3rd Generation jw but have been 'awake' for about 2 years now. I dont have problems (well much) with going to the odd meeting to keep my family and friends. However, I dont want my kids to be brainwashed. Even if I dont take them to meetings I know my family will still teach them jw nonsense. How do I teach them to tjink critically and how do I answer the big questions eg.who is God? What is armaggeddon?

  I cant imagine separating my babies from all these people that lovemy babies but want them to think for themselves
