  Speech on high control groups-any suggestions?

  i'm considering doing a speech on high control groups for my communications class.

  i have five minutes, so was wondering what angle might be the most appropriate to reach my audience (a mixture of young people just out of high school and people in their mid thirties and forties who are training for career changes).i can't use any specific groups as an example.

  I am kinda new here. Seeing your topic reminds me of a speech that I did. When I was in college I also had a speech class. I had about 10 minutes for the speech. I started out my speech with the magazines. I held up the Watchtower and Awake for all to see and said, "How many of you here have ever seen these magazines?", then I went on to say, for the next few minutes I would like to share how this organization destoyed my family, my childhood and adult life. I hope I profoundly touched someone in that class. Afterward, we were graded on this and I made a high A, not to mention, the response from my classmates was astounding. I think you should go for it. They speak out and so should we. I think that was the ice breaker for me, after that I was able to talk more openly about this to a lot of people. Good luck, you have experienced this and I think you should definately share your experience.

  I think your mom is using this as an excuse to make you feel guilty in order that she can take him. My mother does the same things, YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE A STAND SOONER OR LATER, BEST TIME IS NOW, while your child is still young and explain to her you want a relationship with her and you want her, in return to have one with your child but munipulation is not the best way to handle things and that you are family and should act as such and as a parent she will need to RESPECT YOUR WISHES. Be wise about this, your child does not need to be in what you once were.

  Tomorrow is my daughters Birthday

  yep, believe it or not, my sons b-day is oct 9, and my daughters is october 11. they are 2 years and 2 days apart, and the really wierd thing is they are 2 hrs,and 26 minutes birth time apart.

  thank you all so much for my sons birthday wishes, he got such a kick out of them.

  my daughters name is brittany and she will be the big 13. this is her first b-day celebration since leaving the hall too.

  Is Jehovah taking aim at the apostates?

  when i was a witness, we would sometimes get people who were disfellowshiped or disassociated that protested the assemblies or kingdom hall.

  perhaps there are a few who have done this on this board.

  i remember a few comments made by people in the congregation when they saw these people.

  I remember the first assembly that I attended, people were picketing out front of the convention hall and someone said something and naturally being new I attempted to reply, my best friend at the time her father was an elder and well needless to say she told me don't say anything to those people they are evil and we are not supposed to speak to them. At the time, I thought it was kinda stange but you know how all those WARNINGS and ALARMS go off in your head and you dismiss them. Looking back now, I wonder what life would be like now for me and my family if I would have spoken up and talked to the people that this awful cult tried to silence.

  i have been pondering a lot of what is going on with jws regarding the current issue of child molestation and i am concerned that a lot of this will be settled out of court and these horrible crimes will not be remembered.

  i know already that this situation has died down somewhat since it first came to light.

  i feel really bad and hope that these people will receive their justice.

I wish and pray that the WTBS will be taken down. Do any of you think this will ever happen? It just seems they get richer and more powerful and where exactly does all their money go?

  Devil's appearance in WT literature

  i just got the october 15th 2002 issue of the watchtower magazine.

  on pages 8 and 9 we see a caption reading " jesus firmly opposed the devil".

  jesus is standing there pointing at a slouching, hooded man.

  I just read this disturbing expeirence and although I am new to this web-site and page, I know exactly what it is you speak of. It seems that I am (THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE DOUBTING, PLEASE DO NOT JUDGE UNTIL THIS HAS HAPPENED TO YOU), very much aware what has happened to you and this was no figment of your imagination. You were visited by a demon, being in this cult has subjected you to this and I know this from first hand experience. How many of us (former JWS) know someone or have even spoken to a memeber and they have had a demonic experience of some kind? I never had until I became involved with this cult. My sister and my husband have had terrible experiences with this kind of thing as well as friends and other family members. I think you need to pray that Jesus will protect you and send guardian and avenging angels to protect you as well as His Holy Spirit. REMEMBER, you are not the only one this has happened to. I must go, write more later.

  i was a former member now in order to be included with family, i am a non-attender for about 14 yearsi really hate to hear all the damage and mind altering things that go on with this cult.
