Did you KNOW Ray and Cynthia or the legal copyright holder? Only a few maybe had limited contact.

i have known all of them over the last 15 years, talked at length with them, and knew what their wishes were, the copyright holder and spouse spent even more time with them socially and helping them set up their arrangements for when ray and cynthia passed.

i don't believe that anyone else on this board or others was a confidant.

there is no need to prove it to anyone but the copyright office which is satisfied with this.

I personally don't give a rat's tail how the copywrite owners make their money. There is no doubt in my mind that this book should be available on the internet freely so that as many people as possible can read it. It is the responsibility of those in control (the Dykstras?) to make it happen.

Many people who read the PDF will want to buy the book (as i did). It can only help the cause and it will help line their pockets with the money that made this whole thing an issue in the first place. We'll no doubt see their true intentions depending on what they do in the near future... If they provide an avenue for reading the book freely or through a donation arrangement then I can see that this isn't just another money grab.

a korean man named lee jin-gyr fell in love with a life sized pillow called a " darkimakura" .

the pillow has the image of a cartoon character named fate testarossa on it from an animated cartoon mahon shaojo.

the 28 year old man takes the pillow with him everywhere and they eventually married.. this is part of a growing subculture of men in japan who engage in relationships with pillows that have cartoon characters on them.

I'm not sure what a darkimakura is, but we have "daki-makura" here in Japan, which most people use as a pillow to cuddle up with. "Daki" means hold and "makura" means pillow in Japanese. They come in all shapes and sizes and most are just plain pillows shaped like small punching bags.. There are some however that have anime pictures or depict anime characters that I have seen.

I'm not surprised that such a personalized version of a dakimakura exists for men. Many Japanese men here would rather have a cyber girlfriend, blow-up doll or watch cyber porn than actually go out and find a real flesh and blood woman to have a relationship with (including my brother-in-law). It baffles me why so many men are inept at interacting with women here. But if that pillow or blow-up doll fills that need for them then who am I to judge?

i think that i became a jehovahs witness because of my immaturity.

i had some quirky personality traits, and i joined finding that i fit in because, as i said to myself: these people get me.

Great post! I mostly agree with it. It deserves a thread of its own.

The world's religions make God so puny, small hearted and human. It's no wonder that so many people want nothing to do with the god that mankind has put on the altar.

If their is a great designer, I'd like to buy it a drink because we've got a lot to discuss. Sadly, I think I'll be drinking alone though.

'Worldly' man looking for a little more understanding...

saw similar title in a google search so thought i'd read more and now simply have to share my experience if anything to hear that i'm not insane and it is that simple.. met and fell madly in love with a witness, and her with me.

what began as love at first sight turned into a 6 year relatiomship which simply ended very bluntly.

there were many painful twists and turns along the way, first from her inability to leave her husband, then my mistake in finding someone else as i simply couldn't take the pain of her coming and going with such simplicity, but in the end she got a divorce and suffered many consequences within 'the truth', and i sorted my issues which were many and admittedly dug with my own hands and stupidity in trying to protect a young girl who had done no wrong in this long affair.. eventually we found ourself on what i believed to be the home straight.

I feel for you sir. To understand her actions better I recommend reading Stephen Hassan's "Combating Cult Mind Control". It's very difficult to understand the lifelong effects that cults have over those who are or were in them. In effect, those of us who were witnesses have two personalities. Sometimes the genuine self wins out, but we can regress to our cult persona at anytime if we don't continue to make efforts to fight the brainwashing we received.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I have no problem with there being a god or great designer/architect if you will. He doesn't have to be all lovey dovey or sentimental for one religious group. Nature teaches us that if there was a great designer, he is violent and enjoys watching the strong dominate and the weak to fluff away. I don't have any proof that a higher being exists, but when I see the natural beauty of nature around me crowned in all its glorious colors, smells, tastes and sounds, I am inclined to nod my head to the slim possibility that a higher being had a hand in all of this. Although I have tried to give credit to the god of the bible, I can find no evidence that he exists.

Witnesses killed my friend today.

today has been a horrible day.

what began as a day of joy finding out that one of my lifelong friends had her baby, turned into a nightmare when her brother called me to let me know she had passed away after birth.

i was in shock and didn't ask how.

How the Bible disproves the JWs' 1914 invisible presence doctrine.

watchtower teaches jws that christ's presence began invisibly in 1914. they also teach that the start of christ's presence coincides with the start of the last days.

whether you believe in the bible or not, watchtower claims these teachings come from the bible.

so does the bible actually agree with them?

Interesting points. However, the way the bible states how Jesus presence will be is so vague that religions like JWs can capitalize on its vagueness to create their own twist on what it means. Just as the lightning comes out from the east to the west - is that figurative or literal? Can that light only be seen by those with spiritual eyes?
