  just happy to be alive....can barely move ☺.. a girl who just got her license , and a new suv....thought it might be cool to pass the person in front of her....at a curve......on a two way road!!!!!😠😠😠.

  Throughout my life I have heard the the statement, "God is in the details." I used to nod my head and think that was more succinctly put than any verse in the bible. Now I find myself laughing at the absurdity of that statement. The more you analyze and study "the details" the harder it becomes to see a benevolent, loving God existing in a universe that is, in one way or another, constantly trying to destroy the miracle of our brief existence.

  Consider the Zika virus for example. Who designed it? I seriously hope there isn't some sick muffafluffa up there who designed it. Reality just makes so much more sense with there being no God.

  EDIT: I realize that by using the word miracle in my post some creationists might see my post as contradicting itself. I mean miracle in the sense that so many fetuses and babies die before or at birth, So many children die before adulthood. So many adults die before they can make an offspring. To be existing now is a tribute to the miracle that our ancestors, who overcame all odd so that we can be here today to eat, breathe, fart and debate!

  Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your situation. Me thinks its time you moved away from all the trash living near you and start a new life with your family while doing a complete overhaul of the people in your life around you. Move to a far away congregation and fade. The farther away your wife is from daddy, the less influence he will have over her and you. Don't raise a daughter up around people like them or she will become just like them.

  Do you still believe in God?

  i never thought i would admit it, but i don't.

  i might superstitiously have some kind of doubt but digging a bit deeper in my heart i really don't believe in god.

  as a human i could never just sit and watch people be tortured, live years of abuse, suffer from illness and disabilities and all the other awful things people have to endure day after day without doing something about it.

  Amen Nicolaou. Willingness to reason? It's people like Acts that convinces me there is no God. Not if her delusional ravings are the best that God has to offer mankind. It's as if he/she/it has never read the OT before...

  i am sorry that on my first post i am asking for help and advice but i am at my wits end.

  i have been brought up a witness all my life and it is all i know.

  i am an ex-elder and pioneer and i don't know anybody outside of the congregation.. i have been unhappy for so long and wanted to leave.

  Welcome. a lot of us have left suddenly and it has left us in financially dire straits. The end didn't come so now we have to wipe our own asses and deal with real life problems. It can be overwhelming at times, but things get better. What caused you to leave so suddenly? Seems like you are entirely dependent on the organization. It must have been something traumatizing. Really interested to hear more details.

  I was reading an article on CNN that showed paintings depicting doomsday biblical scenes 500+ years ago.

  The same old bullshit for hundreds of years... god will destroy this... god will do that... you and your ilk are such a worn out broken record that keeps spinning not knowing that its dead and the world has already moved on...

  What's a word that describes the way Witnesses behave as a group?

  i can't recall the word that describes a group that keeps to itself like the witnesses do.

  i thought it was "insular" but i don't think that's the one i'm looking for after reading the definition.

  i remember an elder using the word "clannish" and that has the proper definition but it reminds me of a group of elves.
