I have never seen even a sliver of proof presented by theists on this forum. Never. Just wishful thinking and special pleadings mixed with a persecution complex and oh, a whole lot of whining.

I know longer want to cherry pick holes in the organisation.
by The Rebel ininstead i would rather spend my days picking fresh cherries from a tree, in fact i am having so much fun i have got the whole family involved, and the freezer is full of red berries, black currents, and today is more strawberry picking.
i have also gone to a farm and made my own yummy honey.. anyway have you been berry picking?
do you have any ideas how i can really enjoy my fresh goodies?

Picking holes is no fun. Blowing holes in the organization is fun and fulfilling! It's one of my many hobbies. The great thing about hobbies are you can drop them at any time and also pick up where you left off at any time.

However, I do not feel that I have the right to judge God. He is our Creator and as such has the right to define the rules. He knows many things that we do not and must therefore have reasons for everything that we may not be privy to.
What riles me is that people like you write this conjecture as if it is established fact just as the sun is hot and the ice caps are cold. That arrogance is such a turn off for me to endeavor to be nice to believers. If God has his reasons for not only allowing, but designing events that have led to the death of millions of innocent children, why is it that he cannot clearly state what is reasons are for doing so are? Creationists always fall back to their last defense: God has his unknowable, logical reasons for why all these natural, horrific disasters occur. Think about that for a moment. If god is god, wouldn't he be able to clearly explain why he allows for and EVEN CAUSES these things to happen?

I always get to these threads as they are winding down, but I'll throw my threepence into the discussion.
Your beliefs are your beliefs and we can respect that. I don't think anyone demands anyone to change their beliefs on here. We just simply demand each other to look at the evidence as objectively as possible and make educated decisions based on that evidence.
I come here mostly to vent about the harmful things that JWs and religion in general are doing to mankind. I come here to provide encouragement and share my personal experiences on how I'm overcoming the Watchtower cult. I don't come here to support beliefs based on faith as I see no inherent or intrinsic value in faith.
It amazes me how anyone can look at the natural world around us, observe how every species is dependent on killing another species to survive (survival of the fittest), the earthquakes, tornadoes, typhoons, tsunamis, disease carrying bugs, viruses and killer bacterias and amoebas, the mass extinctions of the ancient past AND STILL SEE A LOVING CREATOR despite all of that. That is delusion at its very essence.

Great Tribulation alert?: Russia signs new restrictions that bans almost all forms of religious preaching outside recognized churches.
by redpilltwice inthis morning, my wife showed me this online article (written yesterday evening july 11, 2016) from dutch newspaper "trouw":.
http://www.trouw.nl/tr/nl/4716/christendom/article/detail/4337852/2016/07/11/rusland-verbiedt-thuiskerken-en-meeste-geloofsverkondiging.dhtml.
to me, this seems to be one serious step further, and together with the convention bunker video's it will surely fuel the persecution-syndrome and expectations of the great tribulation even more than it already did!

I'm loving Russia more and more. Might be time for a long vacation there. Now if only the rest of the world will follow suit!

When you have ice hockey, basketball, baseball and the NFL (real football), who needs soccer?
Make the nets wider so they score more goals and I might start paying attention.

Welcome Sevan! I would very much like to DA myself as well, but out of respect for my inactive wife and her relationship with her family (who are still in) I can't at this time. I guess we need to be patient for our loved ones. This religion is sick the way it pits families against each other. Sooner or later, when its broken up enough families, proclaimed enough false prophecies, shielded enough pedophiles and caused enough suicides this cult is going down and going down hard.

Really fascinating thread and experiences! I live in Japan, where there are many places deep in mountains called "power spots". People go there and are often fully, or at least, temporarily healed physically (or is it mental healing which has a physical affect?) There are magnetic rocks that have therapeutic effects on the different ailments that especially the elderly have in their later years.
I hear the Japanese talk about these places all the time with wonder and reverence. If that many people swear by their good experiences there, then perhaps there is something to the power and healing effects of these places. I am, admittedly skeptical, though.
