since coming to know ttatt, i have always wondered if there are others in the congregation who also share similar experience with me, are there pointers to identifying others who are also faking meeting attendance and fs activities..

Since i found out TTATT. The child abuse, the scandals, the lies, the hypocrisy, everyday finding out new things from others here. How wrong everything is about the WT org. I cannot understand how people can be so false and two faced. living a lie. I feel for the genuine dubs.
hi-- i was forced to listen to a jw witnessing on a mass transit bus the other day.
she said something that sparked my attention.
i read almost the whole bible cover to cover when i was a jehovahs witless.. she stated that satan was in charge of the garden of eve as an assignment from god to watch over adam & eve but he became too full of himself.. how in the world do the jws explain this teaching of satan being in charge over the garden?

Baseless attacks ? Predisposed agendas ? Personality conflicts ? Nay sayers ? who are these people you are implicating ? for the sake of clarity and lack of confusion it would be helpful if you were more exact in your statements. We wouldn't want innocent people getting negative presentation on something they had no involvement with.
No involvement. That's right. It was all done on the QT, secret. We can even prove this from previous discussions had on this board. AAWA was in the planning stage for a long time, it didn't arrive overnight. This whole debacle is nothing short of the fault of the person in charge of what has now become a fiasco. We didn't make it the fiasco it is. AAWA did that all by itself. AAWA didn't ask for any input from anyone publicly on this site.
Why not ? that is their perogative, they didn't have to, for whatever reasons they didn't is understandable. But as you say there are many briliant minds here with a wealth of experience.
This is not playing the blame game. This is not 'bashing' the AAWA board members personally. They are all amazing people who deserve our utmost respect for the work that they do.
What made things worse was how it as all been handled. AAWA'a own fault. For me, reading that (bullsht) statement on AAWA made me skin crawl. It was so like WT speak. and tarred us all with the same brush. Sorry I won't have that. So whoever penned that statement and then allowed it to go public has no one to blame but themselves. Sorry but that is life. You are responsible for your own actions, if you do wrong, then you have to make effort to put things right.
For me this is the crux of the matter. THINGS were done, actions that caused problems. THINGS were said that caused problems. STATEMENTS were made.
If things had been dealt with in a more diplomatic fashion, I don't think we would be where we are now.

i'm interested in knowing whether any other faders out there ever find themselves feeling a little paranoid about establishing contact with other faders or former jws, just in case the unthinkable happens and things turn sour.. personally, i'm now fairly comfortable with the idea that i will be disfellowshipped or disassociated within the next year or so.
i see it as inevitable, and an essential transition in order to do what i want to do with my life.

I don't think it's playing the blame game. Just unfortunately it took a bad turn, and there's been a minor crash.
When you use words like TRUTH, JUSTICE, INTEGRITY, MORAL FIBRE, HONESTY, TRUST - they are serious words and you have to be able to follow through 110%. if you claim they stand for something in your life.
it doesn't affect me, not really. BUT it has affected some others, who have made valid points.
Should their concerns be brushed aside as unimportant.

I'm not going to comment about Cedars personally. I do not know him.
I will comment on the words that were used during the discussions though.
The minut I heard the word 'business' being used. Just made me feel uneasy. because business is the nature of the beast, and usually it is a ferocious un-relenting beast that feeds on people to survive. I'm sure many of us 'know' what we are talking about when it comes to doing business in the world. Power hungry, money hungry. Liars, cheats, con-men, charlatans. Criminals.
No one was suggesting that applied to these good people, it's perspective. when your dealing with wisened old men, they are always on gaurd, suspicious by nature, and the least trusting of anyone and anything, why ? they have learned the real, hard lessons of life, and have survived. It only takes one mistake for things to go wrong. Unfortunately this has happened.
the problem is, what's niggling, is how the problem was dealt with.
Some of us have been around the block and back and know what we are up against in the 'real world'. We are not all ignorant brain-washed 'door-knockers' easily conned and fooled. We were fooled by wt yes. Which cuts the deepest for me. the filth of it all, it wants destroying. Highly unlikely that will happen as there is too much money invloved, creating the cushy life-style for the select and elitists, that have no business calling themselves religious, let alone 'Christian witnesses' of the most High, God himself.
I really wish people would take the time to ACTUALLY read all of the conversations that were happening, then they would know what they are talking about. Instead of making broad sweeping statements when they do not have the facts.
Our thinking and reasoning skills and our sharp, suspicious minds and brains are what got us out and is how we survived after all.

Now, I also want to make it very clear to you, I am not being negative, or offensive, or defensive. I am not an angry person, I am not a bitter person, I am not an aggressive person 9 we all can be when we need to be though, human nature, survival is the name of the game. Fortunately we learn the much needed social skills and awareness to combat and deal with negative emotions constructively.
I am not an ex-jw. I was/is jw - but highly confused, hurt and betrayed by WT ( most have worse stories to tell, I thank God I got off relatively lightly, in a way, but I was, nonetheless a captive) - something a lot of us have in common. It is our common bond. Our congregation. Our brotherhood.
WHY? BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE, WE ALL CARE, WE ALL UNDERSTAND, WE ALL WANT TO HELP OTHERS. WE WOULD BE THE FIRST TO ASSIST OUR FELLOW CAPTIVES GAIN FREEDOM.
We are lucky, we have been rescued, we owe it as a moral duty to do all that we can to help those we can, probably most don't even deserve help or mercy, judging by the horror stories. However we are not to judge, it is not our place. if there is a God, He will do so. After all, isn't that what it's all about.
To have someone, anyone, to SLAP us down and treat us with derision, or like we are stupid and ignorant - IS HIGHLY INSULTING.
To have anyone suggest we do not care as much as anyone else does - IS HIGHLY INSULTING.
To have anyone imply that we are taking joy from the distresses our fellows are suffering due to this debacle with AAWA - IS HIGHLY INSULTING.
yes you always get some that will always be what they are no matter what. Human nature. I would previously said, those types have no business being Christian jw's anyway, but I know now that 'Christian' means diddly squat in WT world.
Have you been on here for the last - oooh, 3-4 weeks i think - watching everything, and READING EVERYTHING that people have said ?
Or have you just stopped by now all of a sudden to defend Cedars and AAWA ? as it does seem that way. That is the perspective, going by your comments.
I don't know diddly much about Cedars or any other of the AAWA board members. But from the little bit of information I have come to know, I would say it is obvious to everyone that they are a group of very good, dedicated people, going above and beyond to help others. they are not on a witch hunt. they are not bitter angry people. Highly frustrated I would imagine. People you would feel safe with, people whom you would trust. TRUST IS EVERYTHING. Nothing else matters.
I have followed all this from the beginning with great interest, delighted that an organisation was being formed. From what I could see, on the whole, everyone else was also delighted, albeit, most were not fans of the name, due to it containing the words Anti- and Activist. BUT - the issue was conceded, put to bed, and left alone pretty much. The organisation was praised, the people were praised and everyone was willing to do their utmost to support it.
BUT - the proverbial hit the fan big time. and now we are where we are. If you read and followed every single post/thread from the beginning you would know this information.
I TAKE ISSUE WITH ANYONE that is going to implicate innocent people and blame them for this debacle, WE DID NOT CAUSE IT. It was nothing to do with us. Some people here have had to pick up the pieces. Some people have been insulted, and let down, badly. WE have had to watch a train wreck in progress, with our fellows on board, and we were powerless to do anything. Some tried to help. The evidence speaks for itself.
However, reading the statement on AAWA - it looks like we have been fed to the wolves !!! Blaming us ? WTF - it was nothing to do with any of us. If you put yourself up as leader and master, you take on the responsibility that goes with the job. And you deal with it. If your head ends up on the block due to maistakes you make, you PAY THE PRICE.
Nobody wants a lynch mob after anyone. We are all in this together. Nobody wants ill will for Cedars and his team. Good God, look at how much these people have done for others. They have helped and saved so many people and will hopefully continue to do so.
but.
INTEGRITY is EVERYTHING. REPUTATION is EVERYTHING. TRUST is EVERYTHING.

Nope this isn't the one. It was about 20 ish days ago. I have gone through everypage of threads for the last month - and I cannot find it.
IT LOOKS TO HAVE DISAPPEARED !! It's really starting to bug me now.
It was before all the AAWA debacle ( before it was announced even ) I cannot remeber who started it. It was asking us all to give our thoughts and opinions on setting up an organistaion to take on the WT. What would we do, what would we call it. Anyone else remeber it.
It was very popular and I'm sure there were quite a few pages, lots of people contributed to it.
Then AAWA was announced and mostly everyone said they didn't like the name. And we are where we are today. (unfortunately)
