  the watchtower states that the great tribulation.... will start when the united nations attacks babylon the great.

  it appears individual states of the usa are starting to get that ball rolling right now.. .

  some get drawn into it by getting involved with earth movements and back to nature groups.. .

  When yo think about it .... all the herbalists adn women who knew medicine and were theoretically nurses, midwives, were wiped out by the church, for being witches. So that's another thing the church fathers are guilty of..... now mega-pharmacuetical companies get rich and fill us with chemicals.

  so if i send money to al gore to pay for carbon credits, will it warm up the 30 degree temperature outside today?

  pearly on years ago when i realized a few people and organizations were using junk science as away to build a cottage industry of money making and taxing, i knew it was a hoax.

  then when the data came back to show the earth has been cooling instead of warming, the con artists changed the label from global warming to climate change.. believe what you want to, i don't care, but blind allegiance to the gw idea is so similar to jw belief in my mind, blind!.

  sorry if this has been mentioned before... i haven't visited this forum in a while.. i've noticed that crisis of conscience is no longer ridiculously expensive on amazon.co.uk (now 9.38), and they have a kindle version which is even cheaper (6.84 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/b00bqou5rc).

  unfortunately the publisher did an absolutely useless job of formatting the kindle version.

  Losthobbit - thank you. As I'm in europe it's easier for me, I have book account already set up.

  I prefer hard copy. Like to feel the book in my hand. I don't like reading on pc so much. Great for study and research, but just not the same as a proper book. I also worry about any health ramifications down the road with the E-readers, eye sight ect. ( paranoia, lol )

  When I was looking for the COC, they were like €90. ( lol, I want it but not that bad) there were few copies to be had, even second hand ones. Maybe they have come down in price now.

  i don't know exactly why because he hasn't turned apostate and still seems to believe jw things.

  i don't feel comfortable in asking him why he doesn't go to meetings anymore for some reason, or find out what he believes and if the things i've told him bout ttatt influenced his decision.

  They use the scripture which states one who leaves 'the truth' is worse than one who never knew it. Dog returning to his own vomit. I forget which one, and I'm too busy (lazy0 to loook it up right now. lol. I will do later though. It is one to remember.

  ( dogs do eat their own vomit though, gross)

  I think from now on it is going to be plain sailing for you J. Happy days ahead I hope.

  i want to start by saying i will not participate in discussion here about my resignation as a moderator at jwn.. simon please consider this as my resignation from that position.. i have been posting on this board for almost 12 years.

  i know some of you a lot, others a little and some not very well at all.

  i have remained here for those of you who have needed support as you make the transition out of the wts, who needed someone to listen to your experiences of abuse at the hands of jehovah's witnesses, and to both laugh and cry with you as you progress out of the watchtower society.. we know that we have all experienced the cruelty of abuse of one kind or another.

  Mind blown.

  I object to hearing the term 'crazy'. it is the exact stigma which binds people in their despair and makes them afraid to seek help, as they will be labeled 'crazies'.

  Fortunately a lot of work has been done to reduce that stigma of 'crazy'.

  As one who suffered a mental breakdown, I never was, nor never will be 'crazy'. People use the term as a method of bullying and degeneration, thus trapping people in an isolated experience of fear.

  Winston churchill was not crazy.

  Stephen Fry is not crazy.

  There are countless others.
