I think man will destroy itself. That's the only "armageddon" I foresee.

Do you think that Armaggeddon is "near" or many, many years away?
by booker-t ini am 40 years old and i have been hearing the same old song by jw's "armaggeddon is around the corner" since i was a toddler.
it has to come to their minds that how long are they going to keep saying that armaggeddon is "near" or "around the corner"?
or they eventually going to quit believing in this fantasy and look at reality?

cordelia,
Your heart obviously is with your BF and this new life that you want so bad. funkyderek is right. chances are slim to none that you can have both.

You can't live your life to please others even parents. It's your happiness on the line and you live to live with it. Be true to yourself.

I went to one JW party where we played bible charades and then studied the WT. Talk about ruining a perfectly good Saturday night.

Can You Spot A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus inif you've ever been away on vacation, have you noticed a jw is in your midst?
what stands out to you in knowing that a certain person "must" be a jw?

While on vacation in St. Louis a few years ago I saw a dub couple at the swimming pool wearing their assembly badges and reading what I assumed was the new release. I think they should have been watching their kids who were swimming.

Likening my exit from the JWs to a bad divorce
by findingmyway inunlike those of you who made the choice to drift or fade away, i was df'd a few years ago and, at the time, i thought i would return.
with the passing of time, i am realizing that going back for the sake of mending family bonds is not a good enough reason to go back.
but my family has been holding out the hope that i will return.

One of my very good friends parents were very upset that she did not tell them for more than 2 years that she has no intention of going back to meetings. She did eventually get DF'd. The thing is though unless she made the decision to go back to meetings they would not be happy with any decision she made. I would not sweat too much about not telling them that you will not get reinstated.

Why some people leave and live and then it hits them
by Lady Lee ini've read a few posts lately where the people got out of the jws and went off to live their lives.
i went to college almost immediately.
it was hard and sometimes i would think about it and maybe going back.

Yes I felt like this. I would say from age 16-22 I wanted nothing at all to do with anything dub related. I still stayed good friends with my xjw friends but that was about it. Then my moms shunning was causing some major heartache in the family. So I started doing some research online to see if there was some kind of loop hole I could find where mom would stop her shunning and I came across a wealth of information. No loop hole that I could use unfortunately but I came across this board and have been here ever since on and off. Being around others who understand has been very comforting.

JW split in Romania
by PopeOfEruke indoes anyone have the factual information concerning the jw's in romania?
i believe there were many witnesses serving under ban in romania for years and years while the communists were in power.
then in 1989 when the country revolted against ceausescu and communism was overthrown, the ban on the witnesses was lifted and they could now worship freely.

Thanks for the links. I always wondered about this. I first read about this on a JW message board but the poster did not elaborate on why they spilt. Basically he was posting about how some Romanian "apostates" were causing some trouble on the net and was laughing about the fact that the Romanian Bible Students considered JW's apostates.

I have wondered but I don't think I would change my past. I really like who I am and I am very happy with my life.
