Why would JW's take money from someone they shun?
by unbeliever inthis happened a long time ago but i have a friend (da'd) who is shunned by his family.
his sister asked if he could give her money every month so she could continue to pioneer.
he is very well off and could afford to give her the money.

Let me get this straight a DF'd or DA'd person is not even worthy enough to eat a meal with or talk too but some witnesses are more than willing to take money from them. hmmm
She did not even see the hypocrisy in her request.

How Many Young People That You Knew Are Still Active JW's???
by minimus inmost of the jw young people that i have known are either inactive, irregular, or "out of the truth" completely.
very, very few are still associated as witnesses now.
are there any zealous young people out there anymore??

In my former congregation quite a few young ones have left but then went back. I can think of 4 in my age group that have left including me and stayed out.
In a neighboring cong. 3 siblings "ran away" to California. They planned it all out and bailed when the youngest one turned 18. The parents were beside themselves and the elders tried to get in touch with them but they refused to take their calls.

Kobe charged ! so sad !, will JW's use him as an example for their young ?
by run dont walk inanytime something went wrong in the world with an individual, they would use them as example over and over and over again.. the most common one i heard was brother a got into big trouble with __________ (insert problem here, pick any one), see this is what happens when you leave the organization.. so how many jw's will be saying ............. "did you hear what happened to kobe, big successful athlete, see he didn't have god's organization and satan got him.".
i wonder how many jw parents especially in the la area will make their kids stop wearing number 8. he did and admit to committing adultrey.
sexual assault, i don't think so.

by TresHappy inin may my beloved grandmother passed away at the age of 87. it was a long struggle for her, and i thought i was dealing with her death pretty well.
well yesterday, i went to my jw parents for a visit (had not been there in several months.
) the first thing mom wanted me to do was to look in my grandmother's personal possessions to see if was there anything i wanted.

The anniversary of my grandfathers death was last June 16th. He died in 1996. I miss him so much. We were very close. He was always nice to the witnesses and some came to his funeral since it was not held in a church. Of course they used it as a chance to witness and told my poor sobbing aunt and cousins that one day they had the chance of seeing him on a paradise earth. They even gave out some tracks. They were lucky my dad did not throw their sorry asses out of the funeral home. He told them they better not show up at the grave site. I hate jehovah witnesses!

LOL! I once used the depression excuse but my mom did not buy it.
If I had used the homework excuse already I plead excessive pain from my workouts. I run everyday and I would say my knee was killing me. I once said my stomach was too sore from doing so many stomach crunches and needed to lay down. All complete bullshit. I've been working out for years so my body is use to vigorous workouts. If all else failed PMS!
Then it got to the point I did not give a shit and gave no excuse at all. That's the point you want to reach imo.

I have been shunned!
by shera innot that i really care...but my daughters family has a few of them that are jw's.for many yrs they talked to me very limited,i guess they have found out that i no longer believe the org has truth to it.so now the shunning has started...lol when we met in the coffee shop my daughters father did this little dance shuffle, backwards to get out of my way...even a few weeks back when he picking something up from here for my daughter they had to get him to carry it(this happened before i knew i was a shunnee) he peeked around the corner of my door and took a weak step in..he leaned a bit couldnt reach what he was trying to pick up,then he took another step..leaned...still couldnt get it...i was watching him like..good gawd!!
does he think a demon is going to get him?how sad..i am amazed at what this cult has done to persons minds.....back to the story... =0).
my hubbies brother is married to my daughter's aunt and she is a jw.....and we went camping with my hubbies family and they were to meet my daughter's father and other jw...well when they seen me pull up in the van,i thought they were going to have a stroke.my daughters stepmom was about to pop her last nerve.they sat behind the tent and chatted forawhile and my brother in law came over and said they are leaving because of me.so they took down alll their camping gear and moved far enough away from the evil..bad bad heather.(lol).

I'm happy to hear that it does not upset you. I get shunned by some witnesses sometimes and I was never even baptized. Lucky me! I just laugh in their face.

If I had my way I would have stopped going at 12. I finally broke free for good when I was 16. I was fortunate. I know some who had to wait till they were 18. I think my mom just gave up because she was sick of fighting with me. I NEVER backed down and I finally broke her.

I smell a setup too but I am not going to discount the possiblity that she is telling the truth. She had no business going into a married guys room. There is only one thing that comes to mind as to why she would be there. Maybe she changed her mind and he refused to stop. Who knows. That is what the trial is for.
I can see them giving a talk about this at the KH. They might not mention Kobe by name but something to the affect that athletes are bad examples to look up too and some even make the news being charged with horrible offences. Like the WT has a leg to stand on to point fingers.
