An idea! Tell her that you heard Fred Franz giving a speech on the internet and that you think he has a distinguished speaking voice. Then play her F Franz talking up 1975 at the District Convention.

Were you popular in your congregation or district?
by Emery innot to start some form of popularity contests here but i was wondering how popular some people were?
how far did your network go in this organization?
this question also pertains to those who are actively fading..
-
Bob_NC
Yep, I was popular. Well known throughout the Circuit and somewhat in the District. I was a lead character in about 10 District Convention dramas and gave many Circuit Assembly talks. I was actually a good speaker (lost my modesty) and congregations loved for me to be their visiting speaker. There was shock when I left.
As many have already noted in many posts, circuit level elders are horrible arrogant pompous donkey behinds. I still shake my head at what I learned working with circuit elders. Terrible men.

BORN-INS! What Were The Most Annoying Quotes Your Parents Would Say?
by OneStepOut93 inregarding worldly people, shows or toys?
etc...what quotes annoyed you the most?.
for me it was "well, you have to remember, they're worldly"... "don't trust anyone who isn't in the truth" "they may be nice but they are not friends of jehovah"... just a few to name.

Bad association spoils useful habits.
No, it's a meeting night. Have you studied your Watchtower?

And yet another new member.
by AMO inhi guys & girls.. though you can sit back down in your seats now, sorry but not a jw, never have been & never will be, am a totally happy with athiest life, lol.. started lurking here about a year ago, started dating a jw woman didn't i, i here the face palms, lol.
lucky for me i found this site while trying to find out more about the jw's very early on & knew exactly how this was prob going to end.
but i thought what the hell lets see where it goes.

AMO - Err umm, the girl is probably still liking on you. But she can't answer your texts or calls. She knows that when she requests reinstatement the first thing the elders are going to ask is "Have you had any contact with him?" and "When was the last time you had contact with him?" And she needs to be able to say "he sent me some texts but I deleted them." You know her as as person, do you see hope that she will one day leave?

What's you BIGGEST pet peeve/disagreement with the WT or GB?!?
by TeenageInsider infor me its the district conventions.
not bragging in anyway, but i was born-into a family of 'higher ups' im talking co's and zo's..... and there is a room that they set up in the conventions/stadiums called the "chairmans office".
i always have access to these rooms, because im usually with one of my higher up family members who give talks and all that other crap.. anyways, while everyone in the convention is sitting in the sun, eating a slimy, soggy bolognia sandwich, the chairmans office is air conditioned, has a variety of chilled beverages, 'coke, pepsi, diet coke, gatorade, dasani water bottles,' not to mention the 'danishes, sandwich triangles, cookies, cakes, muffins, fresh coffee, and for lunch, pizza, salads, pastas, and lasagna'.

You have all listed such good stuff. The chairman's office at the conventions is so real. Trying for something original and TRUE:
Hatin' on the Catholic Church but imitating them in every way (different labels, same activities).

Annoying 2/15 WT - Don't Be Stumbled- your Mind Just Misunderstands !
by flipper inanother wt article which causes jw's to doubt their own perceptions of reality.
) in this particular article titled " for those loving jehovah, " there is no stumbling block " - the wt society stoops to new, or rather re-hashed lows to insinuate that most if not all jw's really misunderstand causes of stumbling as it's just their minds that are imperfect, messed up, or gone entirely anyway.
the first abhorrent bit of information here describes a witness man who " fought " with feelings of being homosexual and of course the elders thought they had the perfect antidote to keep him from his alleged " abnormal " desires.

Articles such as this prove to me that the leadership at headquarters know TTATT too! Why else would someone formulate and article so blatantly attempting to control how others think? And I used to read that drivel!

New Light 144,000 Congregations
by Bob_NC inhas anyone heard quiet rumblings of new light on the meaning of the 144,000?
to look for 144,000 congregations of jehovah's people as there are now almost 112,000 congregations?
has anyone heard this?.
-
Bob_NC
I read it on another web site, posted by a brother that I do not personally know who is said to be of the "partaker" class. He was suggesting in clear enough terms that "brothers" are talking about looking for 144,000 congregations and then gave stats about there being nearly 112,000 congregations now.

Biblical Support for Judicial Committee?
by nolongerconfused inthat is my question...anyone ever investigated this?....because i sure have not read anything in the bible that even hints on a congregation having judicial committee procedures...has anyone had any experience with this topic?.
-
Bob_NC
NONE. I realized this the first time I was chairman of a DF committee....err I mean a judicial committee. You're sposed to open the trial with a scripture or two to set the stage for why the person has been called to meet behind closed doors with 3 elders and they didn't ask for spiritual healing. I had to make up some stuff (surprised I'm sure) for why we had the person hostage to our interrogation. It's really sick when you think about it.

I did a one year fade starting after the 1999 District Convention I was looking for change from the convention talks, which, of course, did not happen. It was over for me. Last meeting October 2000. Ex-elder and all that...who finds jnat's last comment to be hilarious.
Jnat, you were never a JW? Only the mate of one? And this site interests you even so?
