i was so impressed when my wife called and told me i was mentioned on the jwd thread "who are the smartest posters here".

why does god allow this stuff?

according to your teachings, believers, just so he can stroke himself and show how man has failed.

in fact believers will read this stuff and shrug it off because in the future god will fix it it and it just proves why we need god..

Thanks for the replies.

For those of you who answered "it's not God who does this stuff, it's man. God gave man free will" type of argument - you have a problem. What is that problem? Well, lets try and put ourselves in Gods place: God can see everything going on, has enough power to stop the torture and abuse for the kids in the story, and God is love".

By way of an analogy: let's say you decided to teach your son the merits of hard work and put him to work mowing the lawn and showed him the best way to use the lawn mower including the safety rules and then left him to do the job. If you return and find that your son is not doing the job properly and is ignoring the safety rules are you going to "allow him the free will" and decide "he has to see why my way is the best way"? What if your son gets his hand caught under the lawn mower and is being mulched into little pieces, while screaming? Are you going to say: "you had free will, kiddo! I am going to leave you under the lawn mower so that your siblings can see what happens when my way is not followed"? Would you leave your kid under the lawnmower to die?

Well in the analogy, mankind is the kid and God is the adult. I know that believers will try and come back with "the analogy is flawed". You won't even look at the TRUTH and the reality of the situation. If there is a God who is love (1 John 4:8) he would not allow this stuff to go on - just to show us that we have free will and that his way of doing things is the best. If a parent actually did as the parent in my analogy did everyone would be saying "what a sick egotistical bastard". That father deserves to be shot.

You have 3 choices:

1. Go on making excuses for the lack of intervention on the part of God

2. Hold God accountable

3. Figure out if God exists at all....once you decide to look objectively (I mean objectively with no pre-disposed bias to make excuses for the flaws in what you believe) you will see reality. You will also for the first time in your life experience two things: real freedom and also a sense of emptiness.

Since the right side equals zero then ax 2 + bx have to equal the absolute value of c multiplied by -1.

to cancel x let=1; which would leave 0= | c | + c *-1

c = 0

or C (see) nothing, just like a good believer.

What is it about you that causes you to lack the ability to think? Am I a sinner? What do I (Donkey think)? Here is my answer:

I am under no such law. How can I be condemned by it? To be under such a law would mean that I acknowledge that there is a god. I acknowledge no such despicable creature. I hate god. Now don't be shocked. Since to me god is nothing I could just as easily have said I hate nothing - i.e. no hatred.

How is your question pertinent? It is pertinent because it is phrased incorrectly. You think (I use that word liberally in this context)/believe tht I am a sinner. You would paint me as inferior because of some belief system you entertain. You would paint anyone who does not share your belief system as a sinner (or inferior). I do not play the game, so how can I be a particular particpant in the arena?

I have racked my brain for the past year as to how I can show believers such as yourself that they are under a "spell". You live in a world of make believe, and its truly powerful. No logic can get through to you, because you WANT to believe this stuff and no logical appeal will work at all. anyone else know HOW to pierce the helmet of blindness?

Calvin. I am not being nasty when I tell you this either. You are a biggot. It is the truth.

Look how absurd your statement was: "It is the truth!!!" How can something be true if the underlying basis is flawed? Can we prove the existence of God - no way! Can we prove that the Bible is God's word? Well since we cannot prove that God is real how can I prove that the bible is his word? For your statement to be correct all the questions I just raised would have to be true AND then you would have to be able to measure me against that established yardstick of truth.

Well I got somewhere else for you to shove the yardstick...

Donkey, I didn't even read your post through. It is apparent that you not only have a bitter hatred for the Bible, but you are very rude as well- having no respect or anyone or anything. What I said to you did not deserve such slandering. Surley there is nothing to gain by insulting.

Well I don't hate God. That would be like trying to hate an imaginary friend. As far as respect? Why should I respect someone who wants to judge others? I have zero respect for people like that. I also have zero respect for stupidity or spam and all I have seen from you on here is religio-spam.
