  At 9 years of age a child cannot make contracts, sign cheques, obtain credit so why anyone thinks they are able to make other "life" decisions is truly amazing. In reality Baptism by JWs is an irrelevance that may be an issue now but as a child grows older and understands - "sees the world" ...then 50 baptisms will not stop a teenager leaving the truth - its no big deal

  Actual Number of the anointed remaining

  heard from a sister that a visitor to their cong (from usa) mentioned in passing that at the top at brooklyn they did not think that the reported number of anointed still alive was accurate, rather they believe that only a couple of hundred remain.

  they apparently believe this points to the end soon (again) - also if it is true they are not proclaiming it (obviously because the time limit it imposes will be exposed as another failed date).

  odd if that is the case as they keep on finding gb members who are not actually very old

  here's part of the text of another boe letter read recently.

  i'm going to see if i can get these scanned so someone can post them.in line with the letters to all bodies of elders dated july 1, 1989, august 1, 1995, march 14, 1997, and february 15, 2002, elders should call the legal department regarding any inmate who may have been accused of child maltreatment in the past and who is now associating with the organization, whether he is baptized or not.

  (child maltreatment includes physical or sexual abuse.

  The elders in my old kh "protected" the children of a brother who had been accused by them of child abuse by disfellowshipping the two who were baptised, as well as their mother, for going to the police. The brother, who is now doing 7.5 years in prison, was "repentant", and is still a jw in good standing. He will be welcomed back into the congregation on his release.

  was that because of the 2 witness rule? had similar experience of that - and you say this "pervert" (can't use words I want to) is in "good standing" with the cong - how can ordinary JWS see this and stay in? Are they blinded to the obvious of is it all hidden away with lies and half-truths and the famous "get out of anything" statement - "leave it in Jehovahs hands"

  wow, this one really got my attention.

  gordon, and ej-jw from across the pond has broadcast his email which is an unequivicating diatribe and prediction of doom for the brooklyn bethel complex on or near the beast day : 6-6-06. well here's his email in it's entirety, feedback is welcome.

  i heard the fbi showed up to question him when he visited nyc recently to deliver a warning message to brooklyn headquarters.

  Bethel Downsizing - Management Discussions

  the spin on downsizing is apparently "go out into the field" yet when the gb initially considered this it must have been presented as a practical problem - too much surplus hr capacity/ too expensive to maintain - or whatever and yet they turned it into a positive matter by stressing the return to the field - all those in such discussions are clearly able to deceive themselves as much as they try and deceive the "flock" - what do you think - did a discussion on a practical problem have to have a positive outcome and how did they twist their minds so as to sell it as such - for years they begged people to stay in bethel service (make it your home for life) and now they cast them out into the world with the thin veneer of "speedin g up the preaching work .. etc".

  all those at the top must have been involved in turning this huge embarrasment (jehovah will provide etc) into a positive spin - they should try out for a marketing award "downsizing - the only way to grow!

  SAP - as Fanghorn says that has wrecked many businesses, in my time I have seen mammoth businesses crumble as they try to implement modules of SAP. Having that as against the in-house bits and pieces really nails it that the WT is a business, a big business, nothing more nor less and the "downsizing" is purely to cut costs at HO with no regard for these "downsized" - just the fig leaf of "speeding up the chariot - in the field" as a cover.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  In English its simply that many have had what we call their P45s - the sack, but unlike workers for a business, no cost to the firm! No redundancy money, retraining or other financial assistance - a brilliant way to make and keep making money
