frankiespeakin, Great observation!
Beating -----> Mistreating -----> No publishing WT publications
WTF?!?
This is one way the WT Writers manipulate and control, by obfuscation and conflation of the meaning of words, often ordinary easy to understand words.
criminal damage to jehovah's witness building in felpham .
23 april 2013. .
police are appealing for witnesses after the jehovah's witness kingdom hall, flansham lane in felpham was subjected to religiously aggravated criminal damage overnight between thursday 11 april and friday 12 april.
Probably the guy is angry. I'm sure lots of us can relate to that. Still, it was an immature move that is only counterproductive in the end. Also, acts like that confirm the JW Myth of the "mentally diseased apostate."
Curious, the swastikas are the reverse of the Nazi symbol. I wonder what is the significance, if any, of that.
ive just been reviewing my timeline of the divided jewish monarchy and the neo-babylonian period.
i decided to check for correlations of egyptian and assyrian rulers mentioned in the bible that i had not previously considered at all (much less tried to make fit a particular year).
i was happy (though unsurprised) that no adjustments were required.. pharaoh tirhakah (taharqa) (2ki 19:8, 9; isa 37:8, 9) insight (volume 2, page 1109) claims the years assigned to him by historians must be wrong.
Jeffro: If anyone does have any relevant questions/corrections/comments, please go ahead!
Impressive chart. You certainly have put a lot of work into this. Thanks for sharing!
I'll take a closer look at it when I have an appropriate amount of time.
I am curious, ... not so sure about the sane part!

can jehovah's witnesses eat blood sausage if its made with only blood fractions
Only if it is done in the missionary position.

And so what started out as a potentially interesting thread on Bible Chronology and the inaccuracies of WT "scholarship" has turned into the JWN equivalent of the Jerry Springer show ...
so i have some interesting news about the special assembly day.
normally at the assembly, my parents pay close attention and take turns taking notes.
then after the program, they enjoy socializing for some time.
Angelika, It sounds like your parents are decent people.
I'm a little confused though. Are you disfellowshipped or is it one of your parents? They way you write is unclear. Probably you don't want to say as if might further identify you, but you should know your writing is not clear.
At any rate, it is true: Shunning as practiced by JWs is unkind, unloving, unscriptural and most of all (from a theological perspective) UNCHRISTIAN!
Name one person in the Bible that Jesus Christ ever shunned? .... You can't because there isn't one.
Hang in there!

so i've heard lots of talk from within about the 'new light' in this watchtower...i'm yet to look at it in any detail.
i'm kind of surprised actually...i first heard about it here before it was even available but close to the time it did come out people started bringing it up - even our co.. some say things like "have you heard about this?
" or "big changes," or "allot of things they said we believed, i didn't realize,"(lots of that) or "brain-overload" or " too much information, but i've never felt more pumped up" or "it's soo exciting to see jehovah's spirit lead his organization..." or "it requires time to sink in, but it's a good feeling!
BOC: It's almost like she thinks its apostate literature or something!
Funny comment. Of course it would be labelled "apostate thinking" if anyone else came up with these ideas!
Terry: Imagine being a math professor and going before your students and telling the the exciting news that. Multiplication isn't transitive any longer (i.e. 4 X 5 =20 but 5 X 4=17).
Great point. Just to be accurate though, what you are describing is actually called the commutative property of addition and multiplication.
The transitive property of math is: a = b, b = c, so a = c. But whatever you call it, the point is the same.
In George Orwell's dystopian masterpiece, Nineteen Eighty-Four, the main character, Winston Smith, is subjected to a prolonged, systematic beatings and psychologically draining interrogation. Smith is tortured and manipulated until his perceptions become whatever the Party demands he should see, for example: 2 + 2 = 5.
In JW-land, the GB systematically manipulates the R&F to accept that 2 + 2 = Listen, Obey and Be Blessed for we are the FDS.
It doesn't have to make sense, you just have to believe it.
i caught yet another revisionist history deception in todays wt lesson.. .
here is a quote from paragraph 4 of the 2/15/13 study edition.
"decades before 1914, jehovah's worshippers declared to the nations that the end of "the appointed times of the nations" would come in that year and that the world would enter into an unequaled period of trouble.".
reslight2,
I would like to suggest that when it comes to commenting: less is more.
Think about it.

DATA-DOG: For the sake of accuracy, would it be fair to say that the WTBTS has never had a consistent teaching about 1914?
Good question! I'd like to comment on the WT excerpt you quoted:
"The Watchtower has consistently presented evidence to honesthearted students of Bible prophecy that Jesus' presence in heavenly Kingdom power began in 1914." Watchtower1993 Jan 15 p.5 "
Don't confuse the fact that they have "consistently presented evidence" (yuck, I hate they way they misuse that word "evidence") with the notion that they have presented "consistent evidence" or "consistent teachings."
The Watchtower has been continuously published since 18xx whenever it was. What they publish changes all the time.
