after all the jokes and satire on this website about jw's only being able to amount to window washers and house cleaners, the cover page of "how to enjoy your work" showing a window washer and cleaner in the back ground.
i almost wonder if some awakened, still-in, from this site is part of the writing department or illustrations and put that in there as an inside joke for us?.

My difficulties in writing academic essays, contrasted with the same difficulties by NK elites

i'm never happy with the result of my labours.
i've had a few hds, but still feel they lack something.. for some months, i have been pondering why i have this problem, and the realisation is becoming clear that my problem is the result of having my brain washed clean by jesus for 40 years (my period of enslavement to the wt cause).

Hey, if you're getting 90% and above you're doing someting right!
Writing well is hard work, no doubt about it. One of the biggest things that I see lacking in my students' writing is evidence of clear thinking.
I work with them on the importance developing a good clear thesis statement, outlining and revising their initial drafts.
The author of the editorial you pasted above emphasized all of these things.
Here are a few resources regarding how to craft an effective thesis statment:

Writing Tips: Thesis Statements (Univ. of Illinois)
Check those out and see if they help.
When you have a good, well-written thesis, you are clearly focused about what you want to say and how you want to say it. Also, it helps you to determine what to put in your paper and what to leave out. Everything must support your thesis or it doesn't belong.
On the other hand, if you have a point that you feel really needs to be in the paper, but it does not strongly relate to your thesis, then maybe your thesis needs reworking.

Here are just a few that come to mind off the top of my head:
- Hendrix: Purple Haze, The Wind Cries Mary
- Satriani: Surfing with the Alien
- Clapton: Sunshine of Your Love
- Beatles: Day Tripper (Chorus)
- Dire Straits: Money for Nothing
What I think you're overlooking is that many of the songs you mentioned have multiple guitars overdubbed.
Also, although power chords are the staple of some styles like punk or grunge and some players like Hendrix and Satriani utilize(d) a wide variety of guitar techniques, it is simply incorrect to say that of players like these that "I don't think ... [they] ever used them."

Terry's very funny quip aside, writing a blog post is not the same as an academic essay.
For what field or discipline are you trying to hone your writing skills? What level? Secondary? University? Graduate?
Let me know, I could possibly point you toward some resources that could help you develop your writing skills.

It certainly does seem that sometimes they're winking at the "apostates."
It's like we're in on the joke, but they get the last evil laugh because they STILL control our friends and family members. It's kind of like an overt thumbing of the nose at us, "Yeah, we know you apostates are wise to us. So what? What are you gonna do about it? Open your yaps and get disfellowshipped!"
