  i've been reading many of the postings on this forum for a couplefew years, finally joined today.

  i think reading cappytan, and others like that, compelled me to share, it seems i might have a bit of a different outcome than many i have read, perhaps it will be hopeful/helpful to someone.. i was a born-in, 3rd gen jw, my entire family (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and most all of my childhood friends) were in.

  some dropped by the wayside as the years went on, but many stayed in, and if they didn't, they still acted/talked as if they believed it was "the truth" and it was their weaknesses/failings that made them stop attending.

  Awesome movie: "THE GIVER". This is a MUST WATCH for witnesses and those breaking free from the WT!!!

  you have to watch the movie "the giver"!

  it is simply an awesome movie for every thinking witness, or those trying to break free from the org's hold on us.. i wont give away too much, but the concept of the film is mind blowing!

  utopia vs reality etc... conformity vs individuality and humanity... etc.

  The book is better. Also read:

  Anthem, Any Rand (Lois Lowry was clearly influenced by this book in writing The Giver)

  Nineteen Eighty-Four, George Orwell

  How to explain the HYPOCRISY of the JW blood doctrine with out getting DFd?

  the jws since 1945 have taught that one should commit suicide and sacrifice oneself to god rather the take blood.

  then in 2006 in an awake they said one could take hemoglobin even cow hemoglobin.

  since hemoglobin makes up 96% of what a red blood cell is and 45% of the total volume of blood and is the key component of what makes blood work, how does one explain that this is obviously hypocrisy and do it in a way as to not get dfd?

  Mom, I’m right here in front of you now. I want to be a part of your life, I want you to be a part of mine.

  It's so clear once someone is out of the cult mindset, but it's amazing how someone under mind-control simply cannot see how deluded their thinking is.

  in order to be able to start booking you need a congregation number which is provided to the congregation by the branch..

  "This is the most perfect, imperfect organization... It has to be the truth."

  This is of course a completely illogical statement. The conclusion in no way follows from the premise, which is itself flawed.

  As intelligent a person as your father maybe, he clearly succumbs to stubbornly holding on to his beliefs when anything threatens them.

  Although it probably will not help him see TTATT, you might find this book enlightening as to why otherwise smart people refuse to accept obvious truth:

  wow, what a surprise that was!.

  i expected a warm welcome, as this was someone i have known for a very long time.. nope, uber disfellowshipped jw.

  How could you be out and not research the JW's on the internet? It's not like they'll DF you again.

  there is ample evidence of the jw organizations being deceptive (for example, misusing quotes in publications such as the trinity brochure and the creation book), but a few years ago i noticed one glaring example of deception that is worth noting..

  part #4 for the theocratic ministry school for the week of july 21, 2008 was how can false prophets be identified?

  the material was the reasoning book beginning on page 132 (there was a similar service meeting part the week of 8-26-13)..

  Magnum, excellent OP!

  The pattern of deception, lies and coverups all point to one conclusion: It's deliberate and the WT leadership know it.

  They act very differently than the standards they hold everyone else to. There's a word for this and you know it: hypocrisy.

  The Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses make the Pharisees of the Bible look like amateurs.

  Let's review: It's a cult!
