I predict that you won't be getting many more invitations to JW social events.
You're better off anyways. Why would you want to hang out with a bunch of people that suppress their authentic personalities in favor of pretending to be someone else?
the entire hall was invited to a party at a brothers house after the memorial.. actually had conversations with a few people.. two guys that were recently disfellowshipped and since re-instated... would love to see what they really think about the religion.. but have no idea how to bring it up.. .
my beliefs are quite in the open (i think), i am inactive and do not comment or give talks.. i dont sing, i dont close my eyes during prayers and i dont say amen... funny though.. we were having a conversation, one of the recently re-instated asked me which service group i belong to.. my reply after some thought was... "i have no idea" .. coz seriously.. i had no idea.
wonder how that went... they all laughed it off including the pioneer drone standing next to me... i am tempted to ask them if they value freedom of speech and if so do they think we have freedom of speech in the jw religion.....

all i want is this: for us to be a family, to spend time together enjoying life.
i don't wish to debate about their beliefs when together.
they can remain jws for all i care.
"We must trust that doing things Jehovah's way, no matter how much we don't want too or how much it hurts, will be the best course of action in the long run"
How does that make ANY sense at all?
"Mom, dad: I love you both very much and would like for us to spend more time together. The only, and I mean THE ONLY, thing stopping that is you."
the science is in: god is the answer.
research shows kids raised with spirituality are happier and healthier in the vulnerable teen years.
why arent we all signing up?.
cofty: No there is no link to your source.
The article Outlaw C&P'd is from Maclean's, a Canadian weekly news magazine, reporting on Canadian issues such as politics, pop culture, and current events.
The article was written by journalists, Brian Bethune and Genna Buck.
But I suspect you already know this.

someone raised this book/film to me recently as scientific argument for intelligent design.
i have neither read it or seen it as a film (i hesitate to classify it as a documentary).
having done a little research it seems to be at the least be viewed as controversial by the scientific community.
my cousin phoned yesterday to tell me my jw sister sent her a sympathy card for her husband's death and tucked inside there was something else, she lowered her voice.
what was it i wondered?
a nice letter, pictures of her new grandchild (she lives many miles away)?
Xanthippe, Sorry for your losses.
Family is weird, no doubt.
Jehovah's organization has had to learn. They used to celebrate Christmas, the light gets brighter.
Really? Well let me know when "the lights" are all the way on.
In the meantime, while you all are sitting in a dimly lit room, I'm out here in the sunshine enjoying life.
happy easter!

look at paragraph 15 of the 2015 july 15th study edition pg 18-19.. http://imgur.com/3wparys.
.
basically they admit to teaching the rapture (for the anointed remnant), just don't call it that!.
Does this mean there will be a "rapture" of the anointed ones? Many in Christendom believe, according to this teaching, that Christians will be bodily caught up from the earth." - Watchtower, July 15, 2015, p. 18, paragraph 15 - [Emphasis added]
Um, does anybody really believe that "the rapture" will mean their physical body will go to heaven? I never heard anyone that believes in the rapture express this idea.
I suppose it's possible, but I really think this is just another example of the WT misrepresenting the beliefs of other faiths. At the very least, it's painting "Christendom" with a broad brush. The use of the word "many" (in "Many in Christendom ...") is totally a weasel word, "creating an impression that a specific and/or meaningful statement has been made, when only a vague or ambiguous claim has been communicated, enabling the specific meaning to be denied if the statement is challenged."

Cofty: They can't wait for the "persecution".
Tell them to come over to my house. I'll give 'em an advance preview!
